But I do want to add something. The grandmas are weird. They talk about an ‘it’. They say things like, “It thought that by selling us we would go away.” I don't know why they address us as ‘it’. They could just say, “You thought that by selling us we would go away.” But also they could be talking about their younger years. Or they want revenge on someone. I don't know.

Another problem is after you have had a few of the cookie mines. They probably had families, you know? And because of how they were working in YOUR mines, trying to get baking materials for YOUR cookies, and died because they were on the job YOU gave them, you broke a couple hundred families hearts.
Part of another in-game news update I recently saw was the following: “Man found dead after ingesting cookie.” After reading this, another question came to mind: Could this mean that some of the cookies baked are able to kill people with just one bite?

In case you can't tell, what I'm getting as is, “What if cookie clicker is somewhat of a story about greed, and how one person, by baking cookies, unleashes carnage on Earth, with the factories making global warming more and more of a problem, the mines killing hundreds, if not thousands, of people each day because of how unstable the structures are, and the time machines killing important people - thus erasing many humans from existence - with the cookies poisoning others due to careless preparation and handling, and much, much more disastrous incidents?”

And, if my theory is correct, then this story is all because of the greed the player character creates from baking a few simple batches of cookies.
