So I try to make a list, then I press OK like normal. But then my lists don't show up and I can't use them.

16:9 aspect ratio is completely broken, you can barely see the sprite list.

Try using full screen for now, but this happens to me too.

3.0 BUGS AND QUIRKS DIRECTORY

My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.13.4, Safari 11.1, Flash 32.0 (release 0)

Though I agree Scratch 3.0 is a bit of an improvement and added more great features, I noticed a few more issues (which I might post separately later):
  • 2-colour swatch for costume-editing is gone
  • Colour-picking for costume-editing is more inconvenient (before, the colour picker was out in the open, whether as now I have to go into a menu, was gets inconvenient pretty quickly after a bit of using the colour picker constantly)
  • Hacked Blocks is gone (though I understand that it would be almost impossible to fix)
  • Sometimes it pretends it's saved even though it hasn't
  • there's almost no way of telling the mouse position relative to the stage
  • Scratch is now more memory-processing (I constantly get messages saying that the tab with Scratch on it is processing a lot of memory)
  • Exporting sounds is gone
  • The control and events' script colours are switched, which is confusing but would be okay IF
  • the forum's blocks were not still using 2.0 blocks instead of 3.0 blocks
  • Offline, there's no way of telling the name of your project
  • Not only that, but offline, the only way to save is essentially the equivalent to ‘Save As’ all the time, which means to update a project, you've got to click ‘Save to local file’, save it as the exact same name at the exact same path as the previous project, click save, click override, then your done.
  • Scratch's script colours happen to make colour-blind people's navigation around Scratch even harder (see this post; the ‘3.0’ they're talking about was Beta 3.0, which has the same colour palette as modern-day 3.0 (ever since its first mock-up))
  • Scratch still doesn't fully-support mobile; there are quite a few shortcuts (e.g. selecting multiple items on a vector costume) which are for the keyboard
  • Speed and pitch are treated as one thing, and labelled as 2 different things (via the audio section, and via the audio effects blocks
  • The corners of the stage are still slightly rounded, which makes positioning small items at the corners slightly inconvenient
  • The costumes drawing area is a little too small
  • When cropping sounds, it leaves a short silent bit at the end, which makes looping music a tad inconvenient
  • Some of the ‘loop-able’ pieces of music in the Scratch library sound odd when looped (e.g. Video Game 1)
  • Loudness may be broken
  • The remix tree is gone
  • Lists are in front of the ‘ask’ text-box
  • They split some blocks into even more blocks, funnily enough making it more inconvenient
  • Translating ‘Hello’ into Danish returns ''
  • Translating blocks give, for the most part, incorrect translations (because they're using Google Translate, I guess)
  • Pen and variable manipulation is almost instant, however moving a sprite (without gliding) takes noticeable time
  • <touching color [#ffffff] ?>
sometimes becomes true at slightly different colours

Those are just the ones at the top of my head.

Scratch 3.0 has made a few fixes though. For example:
  • The backpack is fixed as far as I know - Hooray!
  • Almost any issue associated with writing a comment/favouriting/sharing/etc. is fixed

Nevertheless, I'm surprised to see so many issues almost a month since 3.0 was first released.

Thanks for the input! It seems that there's still quite a few that I've forgotten about. I'll update the list

Oh and if it's not on there, you can't use gradients on lines.

I'm pretty sure that was also in Scratch 2.0.

Yes. This is what I came here to complain about, before I found this post. This is a problem that needs to be addressed. I usually edit my projects offline to test new features, and do regular backups if I'm about to test something that could break everything. This has completely broken that, and I expect to see a fix soon. One other thing:
- New vertical clean up method
This is actually not good, for my large projects anyway. They were all laid out nicely, but now I have to scroll vast distances, because there's no defining to teleport me to it's location. I'm definitely not knocking Scratch 3.0, they're doing a great job, and it's a pleasure to use, with things like 2D scrolling and more functions, except for the many, many bugs. I hope they fix them all soon.

Also, sometimes, text gets slightly trimmed on the right side (though usually not enough to hide a letter).

btw, it's been more than a month now.

I actually used line gradients in 2.0 to create some vector art, so it definitely existed. Some of it transferred to 3.0, but I know for sure you can't do it anymore.

Oh, ok.

I didn't realise one could use gradients on lines in 2.0 - or maybe I was thinking of text.

I also noticed in the costumes section, if there are enough costumes to scroll down, the final costume is harder to access because of the new-costumes button.

3.0 BUGS AND QUIRKS DIRECTORY

Great news, and bad news!

The bad news is that I've remembered more bugs that aren't on the list:
  • Shadows of long strings of blocks (as well as the outline indicating that they're working) stuffs up (Now fixed!)
  • Text randomly disappears from thumbnails (Last time I tested)
  • Having just tested it, text randomly disappears full stop.
  • Foreign key detection sometimes works
  • Any balloon/string/number can go into any ballon/string/number section (idk whether this is meant to be a feature, though I actually kinda like it)
  • The costume editing space is still small
  • Duplicating sounds changes them ohh-so-slightly (slightly dampens them; noticeable for sounds such as ‘Video Game 1’)
  • The little character-things in Glitchy Text are counted as characters of their own accord on the character counters (which, technically, is true)
  • ‘touching color’ would randomly decide not to count things unseeable from the screen (Possibly fixed, haven't checked)
  • Everything completely pauses when one switches to a different tab

The great news is that the Scratch Team just recently did an update! According to them, some of their updates include
  • Fixing the issue with sliders where sliders from 2.0 wouldn't properly transfer
  • Fixed issues with on-screen GUI showing up in the wrong order (e.g. ‘ask’ text-box being behind a list)
  • Translation update for many languages (I haven't checked Danish for the ‘Hello’ issue yet)
  • Fixed performance (apparently)
  • Little GUI changes to do with sprite properties (I believe; I may have interpreted the wording incorrectly)
  • Fixed some backpack issues (dragging a sprite from a backpack in a project with no sprites not working)
  • Fixed ‘touching color’ not properly detected colours on bitmap sprites
… among others!

Perhaps the reasoning behind the long waits is because there is a lot of work involved in fixing these bugs, which would make sense.

That being said, there are STILL a multitude of bugs - more than in the start of Scratch 2.0 at this time (as far as I remember) - and I'm kind of getting sick of the bugs.

They're getting there, though, they'll (hopefully) eventually make it.
