Report bugs in translations here

Please report problems with translations here. Note, Scratch is translated by volunteers, so not everything is translated. In that case the text will still show up in English, and that is not a bug.

When you report a translation bug please include:
Language:
Current translation:
Description of the problem: (e.g. the correct spelling if it's a typo, or more details if the meaning is wrong)
What page you were on: (e.g., viewing my messages, on a profile, etc.)
English version of translation (if possible - this will help us find the text that needs to be fixed):

If you would like to help with translating Scratch, you can get more information in the Translating Scratch forum.

Language: Dutch

Bug: The Whats Happening section, you know, that box on the Front Page that shows followed users' most recent activities, needs more spaces.
Nearly all the messages are like this: (User)heeft project(project)gedeeld. WITHOUT spaces.

What it needed to be: (User) heeft project (project) gedeeld.

Hup, another one! (I'm good at this, yay.)

This is once again a typo in Dutch.
In the About section, it says this:

Scratch helpt jonge mensen leren creatief te denken, systematisch te redeneren en samen te werken &mdash essentiële vaardigheden voor het leven in de 21ste eeuw.

The &mdash needs to be an - . Like this:

Scratch helpt jonge mensen leren creatief te denken, systematisch te redeneren en samen te werken - essentiële vaardigheden voor het leven in de 21ste eeuw.

EDIT: Sometimes it does this, sometimes not.

Dutch sure needs some fixes. Here's another Dutch bug:

Two English texts without translation. Both will appear if you hover over the Featured Project on your profile, and click on the button to change it.

1: The header is called “My Shared Projects” and it needs to be “Mijn gedeelde projecten”.

2: One of the options you can choose from is called “Featured Tutorial”. Actually don't know how to translate it. Checked Google Translate, nothing useful.

No English translation needed here, because THE ENGLISH TRANSLATION IS THE BUG ITSELF!

@CatBloemie2005 thanks for reporting those issues with Dutch. The ones that just need formatting should get updated next time we update translations. Usually translations are updated monthly.

The ones that are not translated on your profile probably won't be fixed although I've recorded the issue. The Scratch Team is gradually moving all the pages from an old system (the ones with the narrow dark blue navigation bar), to a new system. So it probably won't be fixed until we move the profile page from the old system to the new one.

The scratch team must not have fixed that yet

— (with semicolon) produces — in HTML. So it should be —, not -, I think.

@loopsiegirl this category is for reporting problems with translations of the Scratch blocks into other languages. You should probably contact the Scratch Team on the Contact Us page.

I see the “untranslated block on the left appears translated once dragged out in the working area” is happening in German too.

Another one:
In Scratch 2 offline editor

Language: Greek
Current translation: rename broadcast
Description of the problem: right-click menu on “Όταν λάβω το”-> fifth option (rename broadcast) is not translated. It should be “Μετονομασία μηνύματος”.
English version of translation: rename broadcast

@Dreche and @happiness_gr Thanks for reporting the bugs - the problem where blocks would be in English and then switch to your language when you dragged them out should be fixed now.

@Miomi most languages are not 100% translated. If you are fluent in English and another language we are happy to have scratchers help with translation. You can find more information about signing up as a translator in the translators forum: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/5155/

Language: German

On the front-page it says “Die neusten Remixe” as the translation for “What the community is remixing”. That's wrong “Die neusten Remixe” would be something like “Newest remixes”. “What the community is remixing” would be something like “Was die community remixt”.

@Robby_Blue thanks for the suggestion. I'll let the German translators know.
