Scratch 3.0 Uploading Music
Hello! So recently I purchased an album and saved the music to my computer so I could use it on scratch. However, when I went to the sounds button on my project, I clicked upload music and selected the music from the file. Then it just sat idle and the music never appeared. So basically, I wasted my money and now I'm sad because I can't upload the music to use. This is in the newest version, I was wondering if that was why?
Help! Can someone help me to upload the music so I can actually use it?
Thanks!

The best way is to just get the music off of a scratch project, or off of a website in .mp3 format or other music formats. The good thing about scratch 3.0 is that it uploads the music faster, and makes music uploading more efficient.

To answer everyone’s questions…
Kismat12
I am assuming that @Kismat12 uses iTunes because they own an Apple Computer. In order to use your music in Scratch, make sure to convert it to .MP3 or .WAV as they are the only Scratch accepted audio formats. You should be able to easily convert an iTunes song to .MP3 or .WAV. Just remember that scratch is having trouble handling large audio files. If you have a long song, use .MP3 instead of .WAV because even though .MP3 is lower quality, it takes up less space.

There are several good YouTube to MP3 converters on the web but unfortunately, almost all of them will redirect you to a scam site after you download the song. The problem with YouTube to MP3 converters is that, ever since YouTube Premium was released, you are not allowed to download videos without a subscription. I can not give any examples of YouTube to MP3 converters because they are against the Google and YouTube terms of service for a violation commonly referred to as “Stream-ripping”. The safest way to get music into your Scratch projects is to use copyright free music with a link to a secure site. Always make sure to credit the song’s composer!

It should be the same for any computer. All you have to do is download the music to your computer then use the upload from computer option in the sounds tab. HI! So I have a big problem… how do you upload music in scratch in a macbook pro

I doubt that your computer is the issue. Before you add the audio, download your project and look at the file size. If it's close to 50mb, then your issue is that you've hit the cap for a project file size. Otherwise, I don't know.

For everyone that is just having trouble finding an MP3 converter, I use
mp3juices (ill leave a link down below, as some websites aren't the real thing)
to get mp3 soundtracks. It converts the sounds from Youtube videos into mp3 soundtracks for free. I will always be sure to look at copyright for sounds and to give credit to an Artist/video when something is copyrighted, just in case. Have a good day!
MP3 Juices Link
Or type in
https://www.mp3juices/cc
on your URL browser

Here's a link to a really good compacter that makes the file like half size I know this is a bit old now, but whatever. Whenever I go to upload music that I downloaded or was saved in my backpack, I put it in, (my music is .mp3) and then the project won't save. Is that just a problem with my computer?https://www.mp3smaller.com/
Also, the Yt to MP3 I use is here: https://ytmp3.cc/
No scam
No virus
No pay
I hope that the link I provided helps, and if any of you can help me that'd be great!
