Hey, I'm just wondering why there is a limit of 20 comments in a comment chain. I can't really see how this feature helps to improve anything, instead it makes it harder to have conversations with people… Does anyone know why this limit is in place? Thanks

Probably to counter lengthy comment chains. I wish the limit is extended to 50.

I don't know where you're seeing a 20-reply limit, but I just tested this out on my profile, and I was able to make a chain with 30 replies.

I tested this on one of my project. I can post more than 20 comments. However, there are only 20 comments in the comment chain after I reload the project.

I guess the limit doesn't apply to profile comments. I wonder if it's the same for studios?

Maybe. (Someone else has contributed 2 comments to the chain, though, so I doubt it)

I'm just gonna point out something else about this limit that's especially problematic to the ST: it makes it really easy to PM. I won't say how, but it's very simple if you do a little thinking about it. I doubt that the ST would voluntarily add any feature that includes the ability to PM (and I think they wouldn't add something like this without giving it prior thought), so I'm pretty sure this is a bug.

Also, it looks like the comment(s) themselves still exist - I tested this on my alt account; the project statistics will still show the actual number of comments (23) that were left, even though there are still only 20 replies displayed (and one comment chain, so 21 displayed comments total).

They're working on fixing this - it's just a glitch, not an intentional limit.

Oh yeah, I get how you could PM now… that's not good, I hope it gets fixed once the ST realizes it

The problem's been fixed.

The glitch was that only the first 20 comments in the chain would display, meaning that users could just reply to each other after creating a 20-comment-long chain (the replies would show up in each other's messages, but they wouldn't display on-site).
