Horizontal blocks

I don't mean to be picky or complain, but on the scratch wiki it says that the current vertical blocks will be replaced with the horizontal blocks from scratch jr. Will they be added? If so, I don't think this is a very good idea, because scratchers will have to get used to the new layout, and some may not like it. So, if horizontal blocks are added, will it be possible to switch between horizontal and vertical (if they are added)?

According to the article it's partially to save space for those using mobile devices to program with. I doubt they would completely replace the vertical layout since this is a starter program and all the script-based languages I know of are vertical based.

Do not worry!
Scratch 3.0 will support being able to change between horizontal and vertical blocks.
You can check out the block design here, and you can play around with the current version of Scratch 3.0 here. As you can see from this link, its currently vertical compatible only.

Please don't necropost. I don't think they're implementing horizontal blocks in Scratch 3.0.
