Why _waffle_?
There are the three Scratch emoticons in comments: _meow_ (Scratch cat) _gobo_ (Gobo) and _waffle_ (A… waffle?)
So why was the waffle one implemented? Was it here in 1.4 days? And if not, was it because of the waffle tag everywhere?

Why _waffle_?
In 1.4, ‘waffle’ was a popular nonsense tag for projects and was used in comments etc. too. So yeah, it was added because the Scratch Team thought it was funny.

I know it was a popular nonsense tag, but because it was considered spam, I'm surprised that it was implemented for that reason. In 1.4, ‘waffle’ was a popular nonsense tag for projects and was used in comments etc. too. So yeah, it was added because the Scratch Team thought it was funny.

The only emoticon in 1.x was the _meow_, and that was spammed enough. I don't know why they added _waffle_ as it had no connection to Scratch, but I guess that's just what the community thought would be funny to have.
