Why _waffle_?

There are the three Scratch emoticons in comments: _meow_ (Scratch cat) _gobo_ (Gobo) and _waffle_ (A… waffle?)

So why was the waffle one implemented? Was it here in 1.4 days? And if not, was it because of the waffle tag everywhere?

Why _waffle_?

The only emoticon in 1.x was the _meow_, and that was spammed enough. I don't know why they added _waffle_ as it had no connection to Scratch, but I guess that's just what the community thought would be funny to have.

In 1.4, ‘waffle’ was a popular nonsense tag for projects and was used in comments etc. too. So yeah, it was added because the Scratch Team thought it was funny.

I know it was a popular nonsense tag, but because it was considered spam, I'm surprised that it was implemented for that reason.
