A lot of people are going to say no support to this, but I'll explain it anyway.

As an active contributor to the Bugs and Glitches forum, nothing follows the style I set. The only posts that even have a screenshot are the old ones and the ones I made.

I wind up having to say not a bug or lack of information.

This bugtracker, like Discord's Trello, allows for a much cleaner series of bug reports.

The bugtracker is split into five sections. One for the editor. One for the website. One for the player. One for miscellaneous. One for fixed bugs.
From there, you fill out a form which asks for the bug description, for how long it has been existing, reproduction steps (a hyphen represents a new step), expected result, actual result, system information (already filled out) and to upload a screenshot. From there, the Scratch team, primarily can approve or deny the report. Denying will send this user an alert saying their bug report was denied for this reason. Approving will send an alert to the user saying that their bug report was approved. From there, the user is considered a “bug hunter”. Like the Scratch team, they can deny or approve a bug. Three denials or approvals means that consensus is reached. When a bug is fixed.

Why?
A lot of people appear to not be providing enough information or not reporting a bug. The forum's a disgrace as well, to be fair. Fixed bugs are among ones that are not fixed. We need a proper system.

Why can't we just continue using this system?
It's difficult, it's painful. We need something much nicer.

We should keep it onsite
If we're requested to, we can. We can make a separate directory of pages dedicated to bugs.
I really hope we do get a system like this since the current one is completely jank and annoying.

So, basically you fill out a forum (not a discussion forum), and explain the issue that is happening? And give steps?
Mock Up
Report a Bug

Describe what is happening
Type text here
What are the steps to recreate it?
Type text here
What should be happening?
Type text here
What is actually happening?
Type text here
Upload [bugimg.png]
Also what do you mean by if someone's bug is approved, they become a “bug hunter”?
and they can approve or deny bugs?

1. Pretty much.
2. So basically a person who helps find new bugs.
3. Yeah. Three approvals or denials is that final consensus reached.

Okay, I'm getting a better understanding of this now, so when you're a “Bug Hunter” you help look for more bugs, and you can approve, or deny up to 3 bugs.

Current issues?
1. What would stop someone from reporting a bug, becoming a Bug Hunter, and then denying, or accepting 3 bugs to troll?
2. What would happen if you didn't want to be a Bug Hunter?
3. Where do you think it could be placed?
4. Does it show up where the Scratch Team, Scratcher, and New to Scratch would show up in the forums?
I know that I might be nit picking, so I hope I'm not making this harder than it needs to be xD

Possible Improvements
  • Once you've had 3+ bugs approved,then you become a “Bug Hunter”.
I couldn't think of any others at the moment xD

1. Three denials or approvals from different users is that consensus.
2. That could be a possible scenario. Possibly you could get an alert saying you're invited to become a bug hunter?
3. Bug Hunter could either be a rank on a profile or just on the bugtracker.
4. Sure I guess.
5. I just used Discord's method.

Not really necessary in my opinion. You can easily navigate through them by looking at the title of the topic.

The ST mostly uses Github issues on different repositories for this, and normal users can report bugs, I believe. For example, website bugs are reported here.

This is my signature. It appears below all my posts. Discuss it on my profile, not the forums. Here's how to make your own.

But it's a disgrace.

I guess, but repos amongst other repos. Anyway, GitHub's aimed at the developer end.

Then maybe we could start topics about existing bugs and discuss those.
