Hey guys! ProbabIy_Not here! Welcome to another episode of “ᴛʜᴇ ғᴏʀᴜᴍ ᴀʀᴛɪᴄʟᴇs”!

Today I wanna talk about logos! Specifically the certain ways that you can “switch up” your logo. Now first off notice that I say logo not profile picture. This means these effects are usually best fit with an original logo, either made by you yourself, or that somebody else made for you. I personally designed my own logo, so I'll be able to demonstrate some effects on my logo and give you the low-down on exactly how to do it. Keep in mind; not all of these are going to be something that Scratchers usually do ( Which is exactly the point of why I wanted to teach something new. )

Okay so first off we all need to remember that the maximum file size for a profile picture is 1MB. So some of these effects may be to much ( Usually the GIFs. )
Luckily you can still get past this by just compressing your gif at EzGif.com!

First you want to go to where it says “GIF Optimizer”. If you hover over it for a second it should say “reduce animation size” so you'll know that's the right place.

So click it and then upload your GIF via url or from your local file. Upload it and then you should get a box with a sliding bar and a drop-down list that says “optimization method”. Keep the method at Lossy Gif unless you know how the other methods work. Any put the sliding bar to about a 50 compression level ( You can set it higher if it's still not enough. ) It'll tell you the new file size once it gives you the new GIF so that you can make sure it's less than 1MB / 1000KB's.


Okay so lets get into the effects!

1. Flag Effect

Okay so for most of these effects we are going to use Photomosh. So first you're gonna want to upload the file first. Make sure that whenever you want a GIF, you have to toolbar in the top left corner set to GIF and not JPG. So out of all the effects you see on the sidebar your gonna wanna go with “Melt”. Check off the “on” box and set “amount” to no higher than 0.02. Make sure your “scale” is all the way down so that your flag doesn't seem rigid. And then you can leave the speed at 0.07. Then press record, wait for it to save and your done!

2. Top To Bottom Effect

For this effect you will want to go to Animizer.net. You will see where it says “animation template” with a bunch of other effects below it. Press the animation template box and select the one with the image moving from top to bottom ( Obviously ). Then where it says “animation speed” just set it to the middle. Click “generate animation” and then download it once it's done! It should give you the file size under the download button so you can see how big it is, but it shouldn't be too big.

3. Glitch Effect

For this one you'll want to head back to photomosh and select the “jitter” effect. After turning it on you shouldn't have to edit any other settings ( But you can if you want. ) Again, make sure you're on the GIF option and press record.

4. Back And White Effect

This one should be pretty simple. Just select the “hue and saturation” effect on Photomosh, check off the on box and set the saturation all the way down. ( Since this one isn't a GIF you can just select JPG. )

5. Shake Effect

For this one go to the “shake” effect and check it off! You can edit the intensity of the shake if you want. Make sure your on GIF and record it! Remember to compress it at Ezgif if it's to big!

Yeah, my favorite one is the glitch effect. I've used it in some of my projects but it's like 80 assets.

By the way, I'm not sure that this belongs in “Questions About Scratch”, as you are not really asking a question for someone to answer for you. It probably should have gone in “Show and Tell”.

I really like this tutorial, as this can be helpful to others who want to know how to make animated gifs, etc. However, I would like to add in which to make sure if you didn't add this already to make sure the gif doesn't go too fast in which it causes epilepsy. Other than that, this is a good tutorial, and I'm reporting this to be stickied or at least made an ITopic.
And I think your pictures are showing up okay.
