Is this true? (Scratch shutting down)
Hey… I was talking to @sstrotmanefsd and he said Scratch is shutting down. Is that actually true?

Is this true? (Scratch shutting down)
Nope! Scratch is going to keep going for a long, long time. Although, Scratch 3.0 is coming out soon (January 2019). That means you won't be able to use Scratch 2.0 online anymore; if you want to keep using the Scratch 2.0 editor, you'll have to download the offline editor. (Don't worry, that download link will still work for a very long time.)

Fortunately, no. However, online Scratch 2.0 will no longer be available, and the offline as of now is able to download along with the offline 1.4 version. They're working on Scratch 3.0, a brand new version that will not use Flash and should solve many problems with lag, as well as a possibility of mobile apps being released and it being available to use on mobile devices other than Puffin. For now, you don't have to worry, and you can check out Scratch 3.0 Beta on the homepage right now, then you can share your thoughts and constructive criticism in the Scratch 3.0 forum.
And in the future, I advise not to post usernames in the forum topics as it may cause gossip.
Hope this helped.

No, Scratch won't be shutting down, also, please do not name and shame. (I know you most likely didn't mean to, just it's best not to post other scratchers usernames on the forums

I'm still relatively new as a moderator, so there's not a lot I can say definitively, but I'm very certain that Scratch is not shutting down anytime soon.
