My favorite fanfiction is “Memories of Infinite's Past”, a Sonic Forces fanfiction telling the backstory of Infinite the Jackal and his journey with the Jackal Squad from a weak pup to the strongest jackal in the pack. Yes, it's littered with bad grammar and happens to be a script written in prose, but if you manage to get to the story, the story's beautiful, emotional, and heartbreaking, something that Sonic Forces doesn't offer. The violence's more intense than the Sonic games, as there are scary gun/sword fights and characters being majorly wounded and even killed (fortunately, it isn't detailed), but otherwise clean and friendly for older children. My favorite parts gotta be the museum heist and the climatic battle.

I used to read some, but i stopped after i looked to see if there were any fnaf ones and saw most of them were 10x worse than the stereotypical bad grammar non advertiser friendly stuff, it caused me to instantly lose all my faith in humanity (i do sometimes read my friends' recommendations though)

I’m writing a fanfiction Of a Pokémon/EarthBound crossover, but it’s more like how the EarthBound And Pokémon universes actually connect than in a Smash Bros way. So the EarthBound characters never actually get to meet the Pokémon characters, but the Pokémon characters mention the EarthBound characters fairly often, if that makes any sense.

There was a nesscas fanfiction I read a long time ago on Archive of our Own(?), I forgot the title but I'll look it up later. It's a better fanfic than the other nesscas fanfics I've read, I'll say. And, it has like 10+ chapters from what I remember. I only read it because it was the only fanfic on that site I could find that wasn't NSFW or delved into NSFW territory (which is a big fat yikes coming from nesscas…) The story is basically taken in the Smash Bros universe and Ness and Lucas secretly have crushes on each other OwO UwU and then Ness hangs out with Popo and they get drunk (I hope Scratch doesn't kill me for saying that) and romance ensues. The reason I stopped reading the fanfic was that in the last chapter I read, the author said that now the fanfic was going to get into more NSFW topics. Anyway, I honestly think that the fanfic was much better off not being nesscas because there's a sub-plot in the fanfic where there's only one copy of Mother 3 in the entire world, and Lucas somehow gets that copy from Porky. Reminder: Lucas has no memory from the events of Mother 3, he has no idea what happened on his journey. So, Lucas boots up the game and he's like, "Oh no I killed my brother!!!!!!!! : (" and he needs to figure out what happened before the ending of Mother 3. The fanfic would've been much better if it kept that sub-plot as a main plot and the nesscas stuff on the side.

First of all, The idea of Popo getting drunk deeply disturbs me. He’s only like 12 or 13 (I really can’t see him any younger than that because of his implied romantic relationship with Nana)
And Lucas’s you-know-what getting killed was probably not entirely his fault, but he’s often depicted as a pessimist so he would probably think he killed his you-know-what anyway.
I don’t really like Nesscas honestly. I mean, I get that they might be close, since they’re the only two Mother characters who are playable in Smash, but I just can’t see them in that kind of relationship. Also, the characters in Nesscas fanfictions tend to be horribly inaccurate. I once read one where Peach used some extremely strong language that will probably never appear in a Mario or Super Smash Bros game, And Lucas genuinely wanted to hurt himself.

I think {Character} x Reader fanfics are… strange.
Like I read some Ninten x Reader fanfictions ironically (xd) and they were really weird?? Like most of them had something relating to asthma?? I know it's part of Ninten's character, but I honestly forget that Ninten even has asthma. I remember this one fanfic, because it was the oddest out of the four(?) I read. Basically in the fic, I have a friend named Amy or something and we go to the mall and we see Claus, Ninten, Ness, and Lucas, and the reader (me) thinks Ninten is cute!! OwO So I get his number and we go on a date, that's the fanfic. I think I found it odd because of the ‘friend’ character, because the ‘friend’ came completely out of the blue.

Funny, I always thought that if there was ever a fourth Mother game, Amy would be the perfect Name for a protagonist.
