Recording and Echo

To record sound you go to the sound part.
but.

To make an echo of what the scratcher is saying is not possible so.
Record  sound [scratcher v]
play sound [recorded sound v] until done

I support recording.

The recordings would need to be temporary; it would be a bit creepy if the project could record and save you're microphone input. It would also need to say that it's recording microphone input before the project starts, so anybody who doesn't want to be recorded can opt-out.

Sigton this will save a forum post asking everybody to record lines.

You can edit the sound on Audacity by pressing Ctrl+A on pc or Command+A on mac then click Effect and click Reverb for echo effects.

But recording could also be done when somebody doesn't want it to. There'd need to be sufficient warning that it was going to be happening.

Support, only if it was temporary.

@Sigton makes a really good point. There is really no reason to have a project permanently save a recording. If you need other people to voice-act lines, it's better if they just make their own project/remix of it.

I imagine this would be like the camera feature — you can definitely use the camera and see yourself in a project, but it's probably best if the camera didn't actually save your picture. If it did, that might cause some problems, and Scratch would ultimately disable it.

Support if the recording is temporary. The only thing you can really do with it is play it back, since there's no way to save it, or to analyse the recording to store it in a cloud variable.

You could use this in, say, a voiced RPG, where you would be asked to pronounce your username and the recording would play when a character says your name.

Also, you'd need a block to stop recording.

start recording to sound [scratcher v] :: sound
stop recording :: sound
