It may be both, because there have been several “Club Penguin Rewritten” games going around for a couple of months before being copystriked by Disney.

Yeah, it's probably a bit of both. It's probably just not profitable enough for them and the amount of people complaining about it (and doing raids on the site) probably hasn't helped.

has it shut down yet. i haven't gotten a chance 2 play it and i'd rather not start my midlife crisis yet

But this is Club Penguin Island we're talking about, not the OG Club Penguin which had been around for over 10 years.

Well I feel that a lot more people cared about the original CP than CPI. The only reason I know that CPI is closing was because I was watching a video of some guy raiding CPI

Is it bad that I'm actually really upset over the amount of people who are celebrating this? It's a decent game and was exactly the kind of quality I'd expect and enjoy from a club penguin reboot; I can't stand the amount of people who went out of their way to give it a bad rep out of misplaced nostalgia and cringe culture- the game's not a funny meme for you to exploit, it's a faithful reboot that people were working hard to update and that kids were having fun on. I'm just tired of this attitude that people have as older fans, or just older people in general, when it comes to stuff like this.
Tbh I'm going to keep that *drinks ketchup* in my signature till the day I die as a memorial for all the fun times I had on the game.

I never really had the chance to try it out, so I don't really have an opinion on the game. Still kind of sad about it, though.

I feel that the reason why a lot of people meme on CPI is that for them, a game like that represents a earlier time in their life and they're just assuming that kids nowadays are either on social media or if they're little children, on their iPads watching some kids color abcs thing on Youtube Kids

Club Penguin was my childhood. I never played Club Penguin Island, but I imagine it's a club penguin character made in paint on a photoshopped rubber duck. Original Club Penguin was awesome! #BringBackClubPenguin
