How to paint bucket in Vector?

As far as I can see the paint bucket tool only fills in exiting lines. How can I fill in blank space between the outlines I drew without converting the image into bitmap?

EDIT: Also, is there a way to save Vector drawings as images? They save as documents whenever I try saving them.

First, you need to draw a closed shape. The easiest way to do this is by making a circle or a square with the tools. I highly suggest doing it with thick lines because if you do it with thin lines it will be less likely to be filled. Then, if you can color it in, color it in the one you want.
Hope this helped!

My image is closed with no open lines and I'm still unable to fill most of it. Does it only work for basic shapes like circles and squares?

I think so, I just make a circle and then change the shape to what I want and then fill it in.

My image was made primarily with the pencil tool. Does that mean I'll never be able to fill it in?

Well, if you can't fill it in or connect it up I'd suggest making a full circle of the colour you want and using the reshaping tool to shape it to fit your outline, then to send it to the back of the drawing. That's what I do with most of my vector stuff when this happens.

I would but my outline is really complicated and can't be redone my simply reshaping new objects… Are you sure that's the only way?

You can save the vector costume as an SVG file. You can convert it into a JPG or PNG later.

Are you sure the ends of the outline are connected? Sometimes it looks like it's a closed shape, when in reality it's not.
