Scratch won't recognize the keyboard
I've been having this problem too.
I noticed it when trying to edit a custom block definition; right-click on the block, choose “edit”, but then can't change the text.
It was pretty frustrating - there was no way to fix that block definition! And from that time on, I couldn't change any other text in my Scratch project either, not even the contents of a comment or a “say” block. It is like the keyboard is dead, but only in this Scratch project - the keyboard seems to work fine in other tabs, even those editing other Scratch projects.
But GF321 is right, I can enter text again just by clicking on some other tab in my web browser, and then on this Scratch tab again.
Strangely, I only started seeing this problem yesterday, after my OS got upgraded to Windows 10. (Firefox may have been upgraded too.) I definitely did not see this bug a few days ago, even though other people reported it a month ago.

I've been having this problem too.Hmm… It appears that solutions work only for certain people. Not sure why though. Perhaps the browser?

Just try using shift+left mouse instead of right clicking.

Scratch won't recognize the keyboard
Sometimes when I try to delete shapes while working in the vector editor, it doesn't actually delete. It only seems to happen after I duplicate a costume, and it doesn't start working unless I refresh the page.
EDIT: Upon further experimentation it actually seems that scratch will just stop letting me use my keyboard. I can't use any keyboard shortcuts, or type anything in the code or in the costumes. It's not a problem with the keyboard itself, since I can still type in other programs just fine. It seems to only happen when I duplicate something.
My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Firefox 57.0, Flash 27.0 (release 0)
I have a similar problem… however, i use Chrome and the Laptop is Fine, Perfect even… but i can type in like Set Y To -10 when left arrow pressed… but whenever i use the code and its active and EVERYTHING should be fine, Scratch won't let the Sprite move. LITERALLY NOTHING HAPPENS.
