I'm creating a Minecraft-style game in Unity. :)

Hello. My name is Doctor Hyena and I'd like to tell you all about a project I'm working on in Unity.

As of the time of this post the game is still in a planning phase, but I still want to share this project's details with you all.

I am creating a game called B.A.S.E. (the title is an acronym of the words Build, Adventure, Survive, Explore).
B.A.S.E. is heavily inspired by Minecraft, which is a block-building adventure game. B.A.S.E. is being made in Unity 5.

The game will be similar to Minecraft but will have my own ideas and twists thrown in (example: more tools, etc.)

That's pretty much all I have to say about B.A.S.E.
Feel free to ask me any questions about the game and suggest any ideas you have as long as they're appropriate.

Anyway, let me know what you think of this idea I have. I would love to hear from you all.

EDIT: right now B.A.S.E. is on hold due to technical reasons.

ANOTHER EDIT: B.A.S.E. has resumed production.

Here's an idea: B.A.S.E. could have bronze tools, weapons, and armour.

The idea I had for minerals would be extremely different. The materials for tools, etc would be:

Wood

Stone

Copper

Bronze

Iron

Gold

Crystal/Diamond

One of the ideas I've also had is that the type of creatures you see depend on the biome your character is in.

An example would be seeing zombies only in a forest biome or seeing desert zombies/mummies in a desert biome.

I couldn't think of a good signature.

Hello again, guys. I just wanted to tell you all some things about how B.A.S.E is currently going.

I first want to say that the technical phase of the game (actually making it) has not been done yet.

Right now I'm just taking ideas and answering questions. B.A.S.E. is a very ambitious project and it might not make it through development. It's very early in the design phase right now.

If I am able to make the game, I'll gladly tell you all. If I can't, I'm very sorry.

Basically what I'm saying is don't get your hopes up.

This game is still in the design phase. Which means I'm still drawing and writing ideas. Once I can get used to Unity and I get all my ideas I can start the programming, art, etc.

Hello guys. I have some unfortunate news to make regarding B.A.S.E.

I'm very sorry to say that B.A.S.E. is being cancelled.

I'm doing this due to stress and I would rather make an original project than a clone of an already existing game (in this case it's Minecraft).

I DO have a new original idea for a game, however so you guys aren't left empty-handed.

A “prototype” version of the new project will be made and released on Scratch.

I'll post about it on the forums in the next few days as of the time of this post.

I was going to start from scratch (no pun intended) in Unity. Not my best decision in my opinion.
