Is the character Momo "mother bird" banned from scratch?
change momo thenYeah, there's no real way to make momo not scary.Plus it's a lot easier to make a bear or wolf not scary. This.. this is pure nightmare fuel.Have you even seen the image? Let's ban bears and wolves, because bears and wolves are scary!

If you get used to her face, then it doesn't look scary, just weird.

Doesn't mean it's okay. It's still an unpleasant image and shouldn't be shown on a site full of kids. Unlike your previous examples of wolves and bears, momo isn't a naturally occurring creature nor is it something a lot of people might see or encounter in daily life; she's not something you would see outside of the context of horror, and only really exists to be freaky. Plus she has the whole phone game associated with her. Scratch is a child focused site, kids don't have to get used to something like that because you want to use it. If you get used to her face, then it doesn't look scary, just weird.

Okay. I'll just say she's banned, because she's related to suicide.

sorry for not following the trends but can anyone fill me in on how a half-serious meme to mock anime turned into a suicide campaign? Okay. I'll just say she's banned, because she's related to suicide.

oh dear she is not what i expected Momo's probably got a FNAF type ban, she's got so much horror stuff related to her. And, after reading a few articles, it's basically a suicide challenge that multiple people have died from … scratch the FNAF ban, she's probably got a full one

I think it might have come from the text game started in Spain that used Momo's iconography. Basically, with this game you would contact one of a few phone numbers via whatsapp and “momo” would send you disturbing messages and your personal info. I believe this game is what lead to the suicide, though I'm definitely not certain.sorry for not following the trends but can anyone fill me in on how a half-serious meme to mock anime turned into a suicide campaign? because the momo meme is about a whatsapp account that has been linked to a suicide game. the original picture has nothing to do with the account.sorry for not following the trends but can anyone fill me in on how a half-serious meme to mock anime turned into a suicide campaign? Okay. I'll just say she's banned, because she's related to suicide.

A few said there were dangerous challenges that, if the user didn't do, they were threatened with disturbing images from “Momo” and were only done for the reward of meeting “Momo” for completing all of them
though you know news stories

either way, cool, thanks for all the information. I believe we've come to a unified stance on the issue, do we still need anymore discussion on this?

I would say “not allowed”, at least based off what information I've been able to find on it. Even the creepypasta aspect is something we typically shy away from, and given that it's bound to come up, I'd probably avoid the subject.

Is the character Momo "mother bird" banned from scratch?
Momo is a nickname given to a sculpture of a young woman with long black hair, large bulging eyes, a wide smile and bird legs. Pictures of the sculpture are associated with an urban legend involving a WhatsApp phone number that messages disturbing photographs to those that attempt to contact it, linked to a game referred to as the “Momo Challenge” or “Momo Game.”
The sculpture was created by the Japanese special effects company Link Factory. Pictures of it subsequently became an urban legend on the Spanish-speaking web and was associated with “a phone number that could be added to WhatsApp.”
On July 10th, 2018, Redditor [removed] submitted a cropped picture of the sculpture to /r/[removed], where it received upwards of 4,700 points (89% upvoted) and 900 comments within 48 hours.
On July 11th, YouTuber [removed] uploaded a video on the viral photographs of the sculpture titled “Exploring The Momo Situation,” which discussed the WhatsApp phone number urban legend (shown below). Within 24 hours, the the video gathered upwards of 96,000 views and 3,700 comments.
That day, a picture of the sculpture was submitted in a post titled “Momo thread” on [removed] (paranormal) board (shown below).
the [removed]s are me removing stuff that could lead to bad stuff

Usually, if I watch a horror movie, it doesn't really scare me, at most it just mildly shocks me. But from what people said, my goodness am I not searching up that thing.

Hey, I'm 13 years old and I just finished watching a show that at times was so disturbing it almost got into TV-MA territory, and I'm still doing just fine after that.. but I searched up this image ONCE and it's making me wary of browsing the internet. So.. yeah.. you probably don't want to look it up, especially if you have automatonophobia (fear of humanoid robots, wax figures, etc.) to some degree and/or the “realistic but totally not” thing scares you.
