Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Dork Diaries was just too extreme, it acts too girly, and doesn't have the same feel when I read it. The story is fine, but it gets boring to read.

I have to agree. Nikki, the main protagonist, is cliche, obsessed with boys, materialistic, and a total drama queen. The story's cliche too.

Timmy Failure is my favorite. It is weird, hilarious, dumb, and is fun to go for anyone. It is better than Wimpy Kid to me.

I've only read the first two Timmy Failure books, but I'd rank it Timmy Failure > DoaWK > Dork Diaries.

The “too kiddy” argument doesn't work for someone who loves MLP, Littlest Pet Shop, and Shugo Chara.
Those shows aren't kiddy, though. They seem like it, but have dark scenes.

There IS a moment where Pinkie Pie says, “looks like the punch has been spiked” which is not a good thing. at all.

I'm sure the “dark scenes” are actually quite a bit less than what you see in a lot of “kiddy stuff”.

And I'm getting confirmation LPS has no dark scenes from a friend.
