Interacting with any other tab in chrome while scratch is open will cause scratch to freeze immediately.

Probably the strangest thing about this glitch is that I never lose anything. All my work saves the second I leave scratch… and then it freezes. Is there any way I can stop this from happening?

My browser / operating system: Windows 7, Chrome 68.0.3440.84, Flash 30.0 (release 0)
This was happening all the time to people a while ago, but it died out. I think the reason is that you're still using an old version of Chrome. I'm up-to-date and I don't have any problems with it anymore. Try updating Chrome and see if the issue continues

My alt account, where I upload nothing (much like my main account)
I play video games and sometimes do other things. I don't really make anything on Scratch anymore, but I'm relatively active on the Undertale and Deltarune forums.

That's probably because your device is using it's processing power to run other applications. So scratch either freezes or runs extremely slowly.
