Tʜᴇ Gᴇᴍsᴛᴏɴᴇ - Official Trailer
Interest: Did your trailer get me interested for the gemstone? Yes and no. The trailer has an awesome creepyish aura that just drives me in. The magical duel with who knows how many looks cool, however things kind of lower from there. The music drowns out everything that the characters are saying past “You think you could get away with this, did you?”. There is also the animation(see below). I have zero idea of what happens after that and the only thing that really catches my interest is Tanzanite having a gate fall on her and I feel like my interest should be in the scene where Lily says some stuff but I'm not, and have no idea what she is doing. I've read the description and it looks like a series of magical girls who get a rank of magic but then someone goes off the charts or is banished or something. I feel like this is cliche despite never actually watching a scratch series about that, only hearing about them. Though it is more of the execution of a series that matters rather than the originality of a consept. Still what else is there about The Gemstone to draw people in? Why should they watch it? Is there anything interesting about the world that doesn't have a ton of spoilers about it? You should try to weave this into your trailer.

Animation: The animation is choppy when you make it frame by frame. I can tell between frames of the magic being cast. I can also see the names of the dedicated to shaking slightly when they move across the screen. For parts like the magic I suggest making it so you don't need waits and the magic flows smoothly. When animating the magic change the frame slightly then duplicate it. For the dedicated to names instead of moving the names across the screen frame by frame you should use glide blocks. This would remove the slight shaking and make the names go at a constant rate. Unless your willing to do frame by frame animation I suggest for anything that is moving but does not change pose or shape to use glide blocks as it would make the movement more smooth.

Art: The way you made everyone's eyes make them look very tired and kind of dead. There is no expression in those eyes other than a overall tiredness. I suggest adding more expression to their faces. It would help convey more emotion and would get more across without having to say this, combining this with tone of voice would really make your characters feel alive. The characters also look rather stiff with their arms only being allowed to go behind their backs or at their sides. Making characters bend their arms even slightly in idle poses would look more natural I think. Also don't be afraid to give them idle poses other than the two you have. You could also vary up your characters a bit more. All of your characters appear to be color swaps of each other with only the hair shape changing for each. Though it may sound like a pain to do making each character from scratch would help add more difference in body shape. Just overall adding difference in the shape of parts(not size though) would make all of the characters look more different from each other. I can't tell if your aiming for a realistic or cartoony style. The faces say real but the body says cartoon in the amount of detail there is. Just try to make the art impactful and full of emotion and try to add detail over all. Have you tried adding outlines to things? I think it may improve the art.

Songs: The two songs in this trailer are awesome. Safe and Secure is probably one of the biggest factors of my interest in this trailer. Embarkment is a great song to write reviews to. Though the songs do hinder how much you can hear the voices in the trailer.

Overall: The music adds a great mood to a trailer where I barley have any idea what is going on. Whether I would watch the gemstone episodes or not would depend on two things 1.Can I understand what the characters are saying 2.Can you make me care about what is going on. While your good in the finding fitting music department your animation and art department are a bit lacking, though I am yet to see the story telling department. I give The Gemstone offcial trailer a 4/8 for having okayish unshaded art, okayish animation but really fitting music. I give this trailer a Good rating as I am sort of interested in seeing where the series goes and the mood at the beginning was good.

So, I've improved now, but my trailer did do all this, so I find this review very accurate. I've fixed up my art style and found ways to help the voices XD and now I'm working on other things. When it got curated, everyone kept saying the voices needed to be louder, and Ninjito says I need my frames. Myself told me to improve my art style, so I added neck shading, eyebrows, eye shading, more detail to the hair, and I have fixed up the rest of the things my drawings lacked (I still think my art is terrible xD)

⌛ No time to loose ⌚ -Platformer-
Gameplay: You have to beat the level within the time limit. This means you must speed run everything. Though in some levels the time limit just feels nonexistent as the level is easy enough to speed run it in the first place. Though maybe it is just me but the time limit appears to increase how many stupid decisions I make trying to rush that causes me to miss jumps. Still it doesn't really feel like I am speed running the levels. It feels more like I am trying to beat the level quickly trying to get back to a point and the timer just randomly kills you out of no where. I don't really feel like the timer is impactful enough when you run out of time. The Ice was a good addition. It sped you up when you touched it. To be honest it feels like the most original mechanic in No Time to Loose as I felt like it had a bigger impact in the levels it was used well than the timer in the game. I just had a moment of fridge brilliance, the platformer is about completeing levels quickly, the ice increases your speed. I like that. I like level 8 how you have to rely on the ceiling to push you back down away from the lava. I also like the wall climbing in level 31, it feels nice that you are just zipping by the stage. I do like how in level 35 you have 3 fake arrows and the player has to use the one that isn't a fake to continue. I like how the levels continue with the correct arrow place switching each time, and the ceiling hitting mechanic of level 8 returning. I enjoyed the drops of the final few levels. I also like how at the end of make sure to you wrote and anything else that makes sense. The game wasn't too hard. while there were parts I struggled with it was nothing a few tries couldn't fix. I beat the game with 147 deaths, including deaths via idling writing this review, repetitively running into the first lava block due to holding the arrow at the time and intentionally killing off the main character due to time concerns. While doing a speed run I got 0 deaths and beat the game in under a minute, ah the power of the G key.

Glitches!: In level 30 when wall climbing up to the goal sometimes you wall jump off of it. The arrow at level 42 promised me glitches. It left me stuck in the middle of the screen while the background changed to all of the levels. It's a nice visual glitch but it is sort of disappointing in glitchiness and how you can't do anything during it. It also has quick flashing lights… Still overall it feels a lot like a soft lock with an okay glitchy background during it. It also promised glitches, plural. I only saw one glitch. Such a disappointment.

Grammar: You said glitches, There was only one continuous glitch. The grammatically correct sentence would be “Run into the green square with a black arrow pointing left where the outline is a lighter green than the rest of the square for a glitch”.

Visuals: It's generic for the most part. The orange you used for the timer is a really overused color.(you said everything). Though I like how you made different things to play as. Though did you play test all of the levels with them? You really should as not play testing something, even if your pretty sure it's fine, is a bad idea. You could have made a level impossible. A good way to avoid this would to give the hourglass and clock hitboxes that line up with the boring costume's. One part where I can see problems is level 17. If you die to the first lava block as the boring costume you can hold up and left to move and jump. Due to lacking sharp edges the clock will not jump while you continue to hold down left.

Pause: I see in the No Time To Loose topic you bolded the ability to pause as a feature. While it is a nice extra to add I don't think it's that major of a feature to bold about. The only thing pause really does is keep the death counter from rising. I guess this will help somehow people ever start competing for least about of deaths? Though as your levels are short and have a small time limit it is likely that dying due to having to go somewhere won't set you back anymore than a few seconds. Typically games have pause in order to give a menu but No Time to Loose really just shows a few statistics and saves the few seconds you made in the course.

Music:The music is nice. It gives off a secret agent feel. Though that would make more sense for a stealth game. I guess a fast paced song would be more fitting for a game where you have to rush through all of the levels but the music is fine the way it is.

Overall: No Time to Lose still felt rather generic. The time limit felt like you could die out of nowhere and the only other new mechanic was ice. Though ice is a good addition. You could also change your character into an hourglass and a clock however they both have different hitboxes which could cause problems as they are untested. I give ⌛ No time to loose ⌚ -Platformer- a 4/8 for trying to add in a time limit mechanic but failing to give it feel and it otherwise being rather generic. I give ⌛ No time to loose ⌚ -Platformer- a Stares rating as that is how I felt during the majority of the time playing with only the levels I mentioned in the gameplay section sticking out to me.

Thank you for your review! If I make a sequel to No Time To Loose, I will try to fix the problems you've pointed out. I was surprised that ice was the game's best feature; Ice will probably return in a potential sequel. Also, I chose Mission Impossible music because I was not exactly sure what music I wanted. I guess I decided to use spy music because the final levels gave me a secret agent feel.

Any sections you want me to review: Everything!
Anything else: It's cool to have a review or ideas store! Thank you!
Controls: Controls are in-game. If you don't understand Peel-Out nor Drop Dash, they basically do just like in Sonic Mania.
