Is it okay to mention abortion?

Abortion is highly controversial and I can see why there are so many “anti-abortion”/“pro-life” projects here. However, I would like to mention abortion in a non-protest way here.

I'm not gonna defend abortion or show that a woman has aborted their baby, because I would be beaten up by everyone else. I would mention abortion like this:

“POSITIVE?!” Shadow shrieked. “I can reproduce after all. I'm never gonna see myself as a father to some pathetic and annoying babies! I declare an abort-

”Shadow, NO!“ Blaze retorted, ”I want the baby to live! I want a chance at becoming a mom!"

(Shadow doesn't abort, FYI.)

So… answer the question?

Even if it's for story reasons, I say it's probably not a good idea to mention it period, due to the highly controversial nature of the subject, and considering the typical age of a Scratch user. If the project was marked as NFE wouldn't fix anything, because the people it's being blocked from wouldn't know what abortion is, much less have an opinion on it. If it's a plot point, try rewriting that part and seeing if there's a different way for this event to happen, or word it differently to make it less obvious.

I don't know of such a thing. Just use caution, and maybe you can mention it if you personally feel comfortable mentioning it, just know that you run the risk of extreme backlash.

Because abortion is an extremely controversial topic that divides all kinds of people. Trying to discuss or use it in a story on scratch will just lead to flame wars and potentially confuse or upset younger users who do not fully understand the issue.
The zootopia comic itself is very one-sided and has a clear opinion behind it due to its representation of the two viewpoints, plus it's not handled very well. Whether it was your intention or not, your own suggested scene also has a opinion behind it due to representation. This is likely to prompt flame wars and arguments- it would only take one user saying “Shadow is so mean, trying to kill babies!” or “Blaze should at least consider shadow's opinion! It's his child too!” to start a whole thread of arguments.

Wow, that bottom paragraph made that scene I've shown look like that Zootopia comic.

The scene was from a story I wrote in my free time and didn't intend to share on Scratch. Well, if I reduce the scene to the below, will it pass?

Where is this being posted?
The whole problem with saying it is all the controversy around it and that it’s not the best subject for younger kids
I don’t think one little line will start a flame war though

Having them have the argument without explicitly mentioning abortion would probably be fine.

I personally recommend not making comics about characters discussing having a child together in general, whether or not its allowed.
