HELP? How do drawing pads work with scratch?
My daughter has been pretty active on Scratch for a couple years, and she mostly uses it for MAPs, animations, and general digital art. We decided we want to get her a digital drawing pad for her birthday, but we just want to be sure that it’s an actual thing.
can any digital drawing pads work with Scratch?
are there specs we need to be sure it has?
do we need specific software to interact between Scratch and the hardware?
Any veteran help would be greatly appreciated! she talks a lot about how great these forums are; please don’t let her down, now!! =]
TIA everyone!
(also, we don’t need brand/model suggestions, per se)

HELP? How do drawing pads work with scratch?
I don't use a drawing tablet attached to my computer for my art (i use an IPad) , but I've seen other Scratcher's project's with signs that a drawing tablet was used (handwriting, sketching), so drawing tablers should be able to work with Scratch. For example, if you look inside https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/196403942/, you'll see the drawing process of the characters, which were probably drawn with a tablet.
I don't know about the specs though, and I don't think you need to install anything (apart from the drivers) to make a drawing tablet work with Scratch.
One thing I do know, is that drawing tablets should work with FireAlpaca, which is a free art and animation program, that some Scratchers use.

HELP? How do drawing pads work with scratch?
A digital drawing pad is just a pen that controls the mouse, you dont need extra hardware. I've used one in MS Paint
By the way, welcome to Scratch!

Yes, you can use drawing tablets with Scratch.
I don't have one, but my friend has one, and she's used it in a few projects.

HELP? How do drawing pads work with scratch?
They can work in scratch, but sometimes it gets kinda rough. to ensure that it works i would use chrome, and disable hardware acceleration in chromes settings.
For better art quality, though, i would recommend using an external art program like medibang paint or firealpaca, both of which can be downloaded for free.

HELP? How do drawing pads work with scratch?
A drawing pad is basically another way of using a mouse. So it works with Scratch, but can't enable fancy settings, like pen pressure.

HELP? How do drawing pads work with scratch?
scratches compatibility with drawing tablets reaches its limit with the costumes mode. I have found that with the drawing pen I use it will just not drag the code blocks anywhere. has anyone else had trouble with this?
