Hi! So, I've noticed this for a while, but there is no way to search on the discussion forums. There is a link at the top, right under the title that says “Discussion Forums” This link is labeled as Search, but there is no way to actually type in what you are actually searching for. Every time I click it, It brings up a page that says “No topics found” or “The search returned no hits” So, clearly there is a search button, but I can't find a way to actually enter anything to be searched for. I hope I am just missing something, but I have scoured the page, and I haven't found anything. If anyone has more information, that would be great! Thanks!

As far as I know, the forums themselves have no functional search, and you aren't missing anything. You have to go to a separate website, one which is not connected to Scratch in any way, to search the forums.

Simple - the search bar is broken and they never fixed it.

Basically it used to work but it used google custom search and it wasn't available in some countries, and it linked to inappropriate sites via ads, I think. So there ya go, thank you and good night

I don't think it was removed per se, but I'm pretty sure it broke somehow after an update.

idk lol. Apparently the forums didn't have that button about 5/6 years ago at all and I remember it working when I first joined the forums slightly after that image was taken.

Anyway, I advise creating a new topic on the QaS if you want to ask a question regarding something. The topic you've posted on has been resolved for about a year and a half now which isn't advised (this is known within the community as Necroposting)

The forum code has changed back and forth a couple times. I seem to remember taking a crack at trying to get the search working again, but wasn't able to for… some reason. The current status of this, as far as I know, is that we have a ticket to integrate forum search into the main search, but it's backlogged and not very high on the priority list.

I'm closing this for now to prevent necroposts. The TL;DR is that we know about it, but it's going to be quite a while before we get to it.
