Hm… I need a very formal template for this. One second, please.

Positive Effects
  • Helps direct New Scratchers to the stickies

Negative Effects
  • The mockups use ugly colors that would make a lot of forum users stop visiting. They also irritate my eyes.
  • Clutters up the page
  • Seems a little overkill and would probably cause more problems than it would solve
  • Practically forces users to click the stickies, even if they've already been read

THE VERDICT:
drum roll pls

10% support. I don't think it would be necessary.

I don't like the idea of changing the text/background color; maybe just add a border-left to each topic row thing and color-code that one (so that the text continues to be legible)?

Hmm, that's a good idea.

  • Practically forces users to click the stickies, even if they've already been read If they are read, it would probably be slightly darker.

You can't necropost is suggetions, unless the topic isn't relevent.

OP, support- this would keep things organised.
Plus, it would be nice to have a “Color code” box or something, saying “Red = Unread” and “Yellow = Followed topic”, or something like that.

^ Support for this, if that wasn't added then this would happen:

on one hand, this could be very nice and useful. on the other, it could just create clutter and it might not work with scratch's already existing forum system. either way, i don't take any stance on this suggestion.
