What will happen to Scratch if Net Neutrality is killed?
If you live in california you don't even need net neutrality because of the intense competition in that area.Luckily for me, and most people living in California, the state has put net neutrality-like laws, so if you're living in California, you're pretty lucky. That is, unless you work for a cable company.
Really? I hate the 60-second rule.

Even though Net Neutrality ends on the 11th, I doubt the cable companies would want to affect a KID'S EDUCATION SITE.

Even though Net Neutrality ends on the 11th, I doubt the cable companies would want to affect a KID'S EDUCATION SITE.It's less about the what the site is, more about the fact that they can make money out of it. A lot of internet packages in countries without net neutrality make you pay extra for popular sites, and seeing as scratch is quite popular with schools, you could end up having to pay for it.
There's also the issues with corruption and free speech: no net neutrality allows companies to block, restrict and slow access to certain sites, and seeing as scratch is a site that allows for a lot of self expression and is tolerant of all kinds of people it could end up being targeted if things get particularly bad- going off of America's current situation, I don't find it too far fetched, although it's probably unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Cable companies (Except Xfinity) said that they don't want to change the current state of the internet and its speeds. They want it to be free so they don't feel biased towards companies. Good luck if you have X-finity. They will probably realize that they have made a bad decision after an hour or so, once it goes live on the 11th.
when <[(timer)] = [June 11th]>
forever
if <X-finity> then
set [net neutrality v] to [false]
else
set [net neutrality v] to [true]
end
end

Not sure, Scratch could either end the site, although that seems unlikely. They could also pay-or have us pay so that we can access the site.I think there are a lot of adults (like me) who are on the Scratch website, have fun and would be willing to pay a fee. So I don't understand why the Scratch team doesn't make it easier for non-Americans to make a donation (for example with PayPal).

So, wouldn't the solution be to shut down Scratch until June 12?Even though Net Neutrality ends on the 11th, I doubt the cable companies would want to affect a KID'S EDUCATION SITE.It's less about the what the site is, more about the fact that they can make money out of it. It's ending on the 11th, but will likely be here to stay. It's not going to be gone only on the 11th.So, wouldn't the solution be to shut down Scratch until June 12?Even though Net Neutrality ends on the 11th, I doubt the cable companies would want to affect a KID'S EDUCATION SITE.It's less about the what the site is, more about the fact that they can make money out of it. I know that everyone is probably freaking out, but I'm over here reading notes and baking brownies… if you want an internet brownie, I can probably do something about it.
IDK, just posting something random to hopefully bring a smile to someone…
