Thing is, what it says in the OP is quite exactly what it says in the mockup. It's nothing too intimidating like “This site could contain inappropriate content”, because what if you get linked to something like the “YouTube For Kids” site? I don't really know if 3 sentences is too much, it's better to be safe than sorry as I put it..Mockup.I added an image of the post to the quote, but it's too small.
I like this approach, but it feels a bit cluttered/a lot of wording. I think Scratch should keep the “report harmful link” button/concept.
Anyway, read what it says in the mockup and then read this line from the OP:
Essentially, this page has a white background, and a picture of a Scratch Cat. At the top, it says “You're now leaving scratch.mit.edu”, and then there's a note that says; “You're going offsite. While we trust our community to keep from posting harmful links, it's a good idea to make sure you know where you're going. Continue?” There then will be a few options, “No, I'd like to stay on Scratch” or “Yes, I'd like to continue to (link)”. Selecting the first option will take you back to the homepage, but selecting the second option will take you to the link. There also might be a “report harmful link” option if the link ends up going to a place that has inappropriate content or is a site that contains unmoderated chat.Exactly, or just nearly exactly, the same, isn't it? Kinda what I was aiming for..

I support. This is a great idea to let people know where they are going if they go offsite. For the toggle I think there should be an option to be able white list a site for your account so you can go to sites you trust in one click, and still be warned when going off to other sites. It would get annoying for topics such as the Beepbox topic if you had to confirm every time you wanted to listen to a song or temporary turn it off when looking trough the topic then turn it back on again afterwards.

Hey again LionHeart!
I believe this would be a great idea, but there should be a parental option to turn that off for younger kids. The only problem I see is spammers posting dirty links. Remember, most DeviantArt users agreed to being 13 (although they may be bad kids). They mostly know the trouble of many links.
This would be especially bad if someone clicked a link to a virus (and downloaded it) and didn't know. It's hard to moderate this.
Instead, I suggest we allow the wiki to have a link-able-type thing first, or Scratch approved websites?
Thanks.

Hey again LionHeart! The suggestion is suggesting that there should just be a screen warning the user that they're going offsite, and a “report link” function for bad links.
