Portal Theories (both games)

Portal and Portal 2 are INCREDIBLE games, especially Portal 2. (I even have the second game pulled up on my computer as I'm typing this!)

It's funny, it's fun, and it has a great story and backstory.

But it's also one of those games that isn't a horror game, but is still… really creepy, to be honest.

The lore hidden within the games, particulary Portal 2, is unfortunately something that doesn't get much recognition. It's mostly the story and the gameplay that the players care about.

What are your theories about Portal 2? It could be about Bring your Daughter to Work Day, Dough Rattmann, the creation of GLaDOS, or something else.

I'd love to hear your input!

I've seen GT's theory on that, I think it's a little far-fetched. Plus, ALL objects have the same dissinegration sound.

No, they don't. The sound he used for “evidence” was actually the sound you hear when you disintegrate a radio, not a companion cube. Companion cubes make the same noise as normal cubes.

Yeah, but that still supports the fact that it's a far-fetched theory.

Ah ok.
I noticed that after playing Portal 2 all the way through, if you go back and try to beat Portal 1, it's like 1309824^293874374e293847 times easier

Have you played the game? If so, please use the names of the characters to make your post less confusing.

GLaDOS hates Chell because she's broken, which was proven when she killed most of the facility with neurotoxin.

(And, people, it's pronounced chell, not shell, fyi. I know people haven't necessarily pronounced that, but that iritates me for some reason)

Nice!

I figured everyone else figured out about this from the FNaF theory forum.

I think the Walking Turret was scrapped for being too complicated to be able to be used in testchambers.

Maybe if there's ever a Portal 3, then it will revisit the idea of making a prequel, with Mel.

There's not gonna be any three games, actually.

HL3:
The writer of it retired, and the MOST IMPORTANT CHARACTER, Eli, has died.

As for the others…
Valve is slapping things into Steam, getting that sweet, delicious CASH.
And uh…
The staff of Portal is onto other things, y'know?
And The Lab counts as a Portal follow up.
And uh- the staff might be too stressed by the fans'…over the top hype. I think it might be because of the fandom (off topic-ish warning), you know, the same reason Toby Fox isn't going to make a second Undertale, the fandom is just TOO SICK TO EVEN BEAR FOR THEM, and the same reason why the Eddsworld staff has just….left.

Honestly, on STEAM, you can download Maps on the workshop, that's what I do with my games, or you know, find other games. I can also recommenced Garry's Mod, or Goat Simulator.

And uh, for the Walking Turret thing..Karen Prell explained that it was cut because it “Didn't Work Well” as a game mechanic.
But honestly, i think i'd just…quit. I'd prefer the standing turrets, thanks. ;w;

And “Portal Stories: Mel” is by Prism Game Studios Ltd., while is made by Valve. So PS:M is a fanmade prequel. I don't think Valve is going to confirm anything besides the trashy updates for TF2 and the bug-fixing for Gmod and its other games.

(Also Gmod isn't a Valve game, and Eli is NOT the most important character. His “mutual friend” is (aside from Gordon of course)
