There were multiple bugs, and one confusing one was at the beginning when it took a minute and stuff. Then, the second time I played I saw the tiny ‘skip clip’ button. You might want to make that a little bigger. Another one was at the end of the game when I was shooting the big tank. In the instructions, you said that you made him harder and that they shoot when you come near them. He didn't do anything and shooting the tank didn't make it do anything.

Overall Experience: 2/10
I didn't have too much fun playing this game, however, with some work it could be a great game. Games like this are really popular when they are all fixed up!

Reccomendations:

• Add some good quality music. Many Scratchers such as @PaulRHJT make music to be used be Scratchers with credit.
  Fix the bugs, such as the one where you don't shoot the biggest tank.

Not unless it's bad bitmap. This is actually the highest graphics score this game has ever gotten. :lol:

Yeah, it's level 1 of a whole game. Most people don't like replaying level one. :P

It's distance based. If you get close enough, they'll shoot. If you stay far enough away, they won't shoot at all. What was the glitch at the beginning though?

Not bad, but it's a bit off from the format I've set up.

Try reviewing this one, and stick to the format a bit better if you can. I don't think I ever got around to updating its graphics, but if you review it well (not necessarily give it a high score, just do a good job) then you're in.

There are lots of games like this all over Scratch, and all over the Appstore, however, the storyline and starting clip is different than most.

Graphics: 5/10
The ‘messed up road’ is basically a bunch of scribbles, however, the tanks are probably the best drawing of a tank using bitmap on Scratch!

Scripting: 5/10
Because of the 200+ scripts, it takes a while for the project to load, but most of the scripts are needed.

Sound: 10/10

You have a volume and sound control, and the songs are great!

Polish and Replayablilty: 4/10

There isn't a play again button, so it's a bit annoying to play again because you have to watch the clip and wait for the clip to start again. And there's a glitch which makes it almost impossible to complete the level (see the next category)

Notable Bugs and Glitches: 6/10

You can shoot every tank, and you have to get close enough to the engines to make them explode, which is a big plus. But before you can shoot them, they all shoot you at the same time and there isn't a way to get away!

Overall: 7/10
I had a lot of fun playing this! Keep adding to it, and it'll be great!

It could use some work, but after that, it'll be the best tank engine game I've played!

My Reccomendations:

• Fix the glitch with the engines shooting you at the same time. You can do this using the pick-random block and then add it to the shooting script on all of the tanks. (any questions about this? If you don't understand then just say so and I'll use scratch blocks.)
  
  Add a play again button for if you lose.
  
  Maybe make the ‘messed up road’ to look a little more like a ‘messed up road.’

Review of: Shadow Quest RPG 2 ~ by blackoutspur

Creativity 8/10
RPG's may be common, but at least you came up with your own storyline. Though it might be basic, it's a lot more than most projects, and has multiple boss fights. Good job!

Graphics 5/10
I mostly score for consistency with graphics (though overall quality is considered as well), and the graphics here were fine, but inconsistent. Several different styles at play here, though it wasn't glaringly obvious.

Scripting 3/10
The scripts were quite messy, and there were multiple separate scripts that could have (should have) been combined. There were also several questionable loop choices (such as a repeat 1000 instead of a repeat until in a boss sprite)

Sound 8/10
The sounds were well picked, and there were also some sound effects.

Polish and Replayability 8/20
The game has an inventory system, in game signposts and letters, and (as mentioned before) multiple boss fights. It is very linear however, with no collectibles or achievements, and no alternate paths, so there little reason to play again after beating it the first time.

Notable Bugs 4/20
There were a number of bugs throughout the game, and I can't list them all here (though the speed boss seems to not have a way to beat it, I had to 0 its hp from inside the project). However, this screenshot taken right after I beat the game is probably something you''ll want to fix.



Overall Experience 14/20
I had fun playing this game, but the character did move kinda slow. Other than that, it was an enjoyable experience.

Total 50/100
With some major bug fixing and cleaned up scripts, this could be a fantastic project. If you do fix it up, I hope you'll submit it for re-review!


My Recommendations

• The number of recommendations is too high to list all of them, so I'll stick to basics.

• Go through your project, start to finish, and fix every bug that comes up as soon as you see it. Do this a couple times and it will be mostly bug free, except for those random fringe glitches that speedrunners use.

• Take a look at your scripts, and see if there are ways to combine them to save space. Don't make on huge script, since that will cause lag, but definitely cut down wherever possible.

• Add some sort of indicator for the health of the enemies you fight. Only the Minotaur seemed to have a health indicator, which made the other fights trickier.

• Speed up the player's character a bit.

Though I'm sure a story like this exists somewhere, I haven't seen it yet.

There's a bit of a glare spot on the left due to the background color there, making it harder to read.

Story 35/40
This was a very well executed short story, with many details and visualizations that didn't feel like they were going overboard. It had a good pace to it, and I felt compelled to find out what was going on. I do however want answers about the surprise ending.

Sound 5/5
The background music was very pleasant, and well suited to the pace and material of the story.

Errors 14/20
There are only a few errors that I spotted.

• Slide 1, line 1: "She always believed that it was an inanimate object" Needs to be the same tense as the rest of the clause, in this case that would be past-tense.
  
• Slide 7, line 2: "Maybe her mother actually didn't remember" Saying the mother is a bit out of place here.
  
• Slide 7, line 9: "as a sense of peace and tranquility crept into her demeanor." I don't know why, it's just better grammar. I'm not an English major.
  

Overall Experience 18/20
I enjoyed reading this story, and certainly wouldn't mind reading another from you!

Thank you for reviewing my project! Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I was quite busy. I did take some of your suggestions but I can't fix the lag issue, although I do think it is due to the fact that the levels frames consist of 135 tiles on screen and I don't believe there is any unnecessary scripts running at the same time. I did fix the title screen and high score issue but it is intentional that the program does not register your high score if you get a game over. It works otherwise. If you wish, you can use the sulfurous link to resolve the speed issues and play the game as it is meant to be played.
I will take your suggestions for the sequel I plan to make soon as well.
