how do you turn off remixing and see inside?

Hello, the subject of turning of remixing and turning off “see inside” has come up a few times and it's probably because some famous scratchers
don't want to give away their secrets. Yeah you know who you are.I'd just like to say if we maybe, just maybe raise enough attention we could
get the scratch team to make it an option!

They shouldn't turn it off, because scratch is about learning and having fun, The point of remixing (in my option) is to tinker and to improve projects.

Yes you can have your opinion but you can't change mine

I agree with @Vexiqmaster, they shouldn't even have a turn off option for the remix button.

This suggestion has actually been rejected. So it would never happen, sorry!

Restricting Sharing/See Inside
The motto of Scratch is Imagine, Program, Share. Lets quote the Terms and Conditions of this site
4.3 All user-generated content you submit to Scratch is licensed to and through Scratch under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 license. This allows others to view and remix your content. This license also allows the Scratch Team to display, distribute, and reproduce your content on the Scratch website, through social media channels, and elsewhere. If you do not want to license your content under this license, then do not share it on Scratch.
Paddle2See addressed this idea by saying:

Paddle2See wrote:

We depend very heavily on our community to help us keep an eye on things and make sure that the Community Guidelines are being followed. Reducing the number of people that can see a project increases the likelihood that inappropriate content could be shared without being reported. That's a risk that we are not willing to take. Keeping everything out in the open is the best way we have found to help keep Scratch friendly and safe.

(From the complete list of rejected suggestions).
Also this would go into suggestions better.

You can't turn off remixing or seeing inside. It's also been suggested before, and rejected.

Remixing and open-source code are two of Scratch's core values, so disabling remixing or seeing inside is essentially defeating the purpose of this website.

What FuturePr0 quoted is correct. All projects shared on the website are under the Creative Commons license, which allows users to use other projects without permission - so as long as credit is given.

If a user has a secret that they don't want others to know about, then they shouldn't share it on the website in the first place. Its also best for everything shared on Scratch to be out in the open as it prevents users from sharing inappropriate content without it being reported.
