A Scratch App!
Heyo! E06girl here. My and Orangekitty31 thought that a Scratch app would eb a cool idea. WHat do you and the Scratch Team think? Because I know there is a Scratch Jr. app, but what about regular Scratch?

I believe that Apple won't allow for an actual Scratch app for security reasons. However, they will be rolling out an HTML 5 version of Scratch that will potentially make the editor more user friendly later this year.

A Scratch App!
The Scratch Team is planning on making scratch work on phones, due to scratch 3.0's use of html5. So, no. there will be no scratch app, because it will work in your browser later this year.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. The Scratch Team will still have to try though!

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. The Scratch Team will still have to try though!Still, there's no need to create another app: you just click your browser and type Scratch's URL.

OK cool! I know that you can comment and stuff on phones and tables, but you aren't able to make projects. Excited to see this update though!!

It would be useful if Scratch 3.0 contains the necessary meta tags/manifest file to make it a standalone webpage when added to the home screen.

Scratch 3.0 will be usable on tablets. I'm not sure if it will be an app, however. Phones should be able to play projects.

No Support. Scratch 3.0 will already run on phones and tablets without the need for an app.

Several people have ported the Scratch 2 Offline Editor to Android with varying degrees of success. File access is a big issue that is the fault of Adobe AIR, so I would wait until Scratch-3-GUI is considered stable enough for release first.

It would be useful if Scratch 3.0 contains the necessary meta tags/manifest file to make it a standalone webpage when added to the home screen. Then they wouldn’t need to make an “app,” but the webpage gets app privileges to the device. It also looks like an app and can be set to open without Safari/Chrome.

You could make a app link to your scratch profile page then make a new project from there (in scratch 3.0 of course).

I think after Scratch 3.0 comes out there should be a Scratch App (people have wanted this ever since 2.0 which was impossible at the time because it used flash)!

This is a cool idea, but Scratch 3.0 is going to be entirely in HTML5, so you can use it on any web browser app on your device already. An offline app or mobile-optimised platform for Scratch would be nice though.
