Scratch 3.0 – Too much padding on blocks
It would have whatever style you use. It's an account setting, not a project setting.I still don't think I found an answer through your post or I misunderstood it. I'm asking if I looked inside of a project of a different user, would I see the blocks that I prefer them or that the creator prefers them, or something else?
This is an excellent solution to the problem and would definitely allow us to make our projects more unique.
But when one looks inside of the project of a different user, would the blocks be the size and color that the creator prefers or that size and color that you prefer?
I think changing the colour of the blocks is not really necessary, because that really is something that you can get used to. And with the size of the blocks – my suggestions would be to only have two options here (Like in 2.0 and like how 3.0 is now), in which case it would not really matter if it was what I preferred or what the creator preferred because I could always change it with just one click of the button!
Therefore I don't think that this point would be an issue

But what about things like Phones and iPods? Older kids use those. They're smaller than tablets and iPads, so therefore, wouldn't dragging around the blocks be harder? The bigger blocks are not for Scratch 3.0 to be aimed at younger children, they're bigger so they'll be more accessible to mobile users, since coding on Mobile devices will be possible in 3.0.
Yes, but ask yourself:
Who uses tablets/iPads? Young kids
Who doesn't use them? Older kids — we in general have our own computers.
-snip-Got it, exactly the answer I was looking for, thank you.

Phones and iPods? Scratch on a smaller screen doesn't make much sense, especially if the code is complex.

Oh heck yes plzI'd personally like to see something like a mode for mobile users and a mode for computer users, and the ability to toggle them.^^^
Support for toggling them.

iPhones and iPods (why did you just mention the evil Apple and not Android!!??) and other mobile devices (like phones) will not be supported in Scratch 3.0 upon initial release. But what about things like Phones and iPods? Scratch 3.0 – Too much padding on blocks
as lots of people have said here on this thread before me, the bigger blocks are designed for mobile users, but i do really like the idea of buttons that can change the size of the blocks

Guys, what are you talking about on this thread?! The Scratch Team works so hard on making Scratch 3.0 and you all complain about it?! That's rude of you!

It would be nice if there was a button too switch too scratch 2.0 (In my opinion I don't really like the size of padding.)Then check out this topic!

Scratch 3.0 – Too much padding on blocks
Guys, what are you talking about on this thread?! The Scratch Team works so hard on making Scratch 3.0 and you all complain about it?! That's rude of you!Whoa, dude. chill out a little. Nobody is really complaining, or trying to be rude. they just think that the new blocks are a bit too big, and want an option to make them a little smaller. The purpose of the suggestions forum is to ask for things to be added or changed, and that's exactly whats going on here.
Anyways, as others have stated, I think an option to make the blocks revert to the 2.0 style, or just reduce the padding on the blocks would be great. The new ones feel a little clunky and i find them hard to try and work with.

This thread is a suggestion for a feature that could be added to Scratch 3.0, not a ‘we think Scratch 3.0 is really bad please get rid of it’.

I definitely did not make this thread to be rude, since I wrote in post #1:
Please make sure all your posts are respectful, and that this thread is a list of ideas and suggestions and not a rant

Exactly! If it wouldn't be allowed to criticise certain parts of scratch, there would be no point in having a suggestions forum

A member of the scratch team has now looked at the studio! Here is a copy of the conversation:
Thanks for the feedback! This is great. : )
Thanks for the feedback! This is great. : )Do you think an option like the one in the image in the first post of this thread: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/299287/ is likely? In the preview FAQ, they said that larger blocks would make it easier to use, but you could still have that as the default option and be able to change it if you don't find it easier

I have an idea.
Scratch 3.0 detects if you're using a computer or iPad or something, and it will set the defaults.
For computer, the blocks will be smaller.
For mobile, the blocks will be bigger.
I don't know if this is possible..

It's a good idea! And then after that, everyone could still change it to what they preferred, and computer users who preferred the big blocks (although these seem to be the minority) will be happy as well!
