How about this question. It has not happened for about over a month, but rarely when I log in on Win 8 it will just be a black screen with the mouse.
@animaboy: after a quick search, it seems you need an updated XP with Service Pack 2 for WPA2 to function.

Yeah, maybe download SP2 over ethernet or revert to WPA while you download it. How about this question. It has not happened for about over a month, but rarely when I log in on Win 8 it will just be a black screen with the mouse.

Actually, it wasn't; both of those questions are legitimate problems I have with Windows.I'm always struggling to get cross-platform programs compiled with gcc in mingw; why does Windows sometimes just not accept relative paths?
Also, why did they intentionally ruin Basic, do you think?
That was an off topic post

Yes, but like so many others gigapouch doesn't know the difference between a topic and a forum. I assumed they were looking for a link to the official Windows forum ( Actually, it wasn't; both of those questions are legitimate problems I have with Windows.this one) as a result!

In 2018, I asked the Scratch Team to remove all my forum posts to protect my privacy. That's why this post is blank. Besides, I've outgrown this website, and I don't want the dumb things I said in my late tween/early teen years to follow me around for the rest of my life. This post probably wasn't anything interesting or important, anyway.

I've never had a problem with WPA2 on XP.I'm not sure XP is compatible with WPA2, try reverting to WPA and see if that works.Well, if you wanted to only discuss that, than you could've called this topic “Official Windows Help Topic”.I'm looking forward to seeing what they've done with Windows 9.OK people, this topic is “derailing”. This topic was originally supposed to be for people who needed help with Windows, but now it is about new versions of Windows. What do you mean by threshold-free? I want to get Windows 8.2 when it comes out. I am stuck with 7. I actually like Windows 8.x. I hope MSFT makes a smart move and makes Windows 8.2 threshold free.
I really like Windows 8(.1) too. If I had one wish for the next update, it would be the reintroduction of the old start menu and disabling of the start screen as an option. Not because I would use it, but so everyone could stop complaining about the new interface.
I also need help. I decided to use my old Windows XP laptop for no reason in particular, and I can't get it to connect to my Wi-Fi. When I hook it into my router physically, it works perfectly, if a little slow. The router uses WPA2 encryption.
A lot of times, a fresh install of Windows won't have the drivers you need. Have you installed the drivers for your wireless card?

This has happened to me on W7. I believe that it is that explorer.exe and the logon dll files are still loading. Does it load up eventually or does it stay like that? How about this question. It has not happened for about over a month, but rarely when I log in on Win 8 it will just be a black screen with the mouse.
My specs: Windows 8.1.2 - 3 GB RAM - Intel Core2 Quad - IE11

I've waited about 5 minutes and then just power down. Closing my laptop lid won't put it asleep, either. This has happened to me on W7.
