Want to purchase Lego WeDo

I really bad want Lego Wedo, but it seems really expensive (like, $100-200) Does anyone know if I could get it cheaper somewhere else? Maybe selling a used set? PLEASE???? I'd appreciate it.

Lego WeDo is the educational Lego and unfortunately not very cheap.
Maybe you can look on Ebay or similar sites?

It's possible, but not ideal, to find a used WeDo USB Hub, Tilt Sensor and Motion Sensor which are the primary pieces that differentiate the WeDo kit from Technics and Power Functions. All of the other pieces in the kit are Technics or Power functions (motor).

Want to purchase Lego WeDo

Hi,
sorry to hijack the thread but it is related; I am an ICT teacher and my school is about to buy some WeDo construction set to teach ICT to pupils around 13-14.
We plan to use scratch for the software part, is it enough or do we need the WeDo software?
Everything will have to work under Windows 7 IIRC.
TIA

If you can use Scratch v2 online or Scratch 1.4 offline, then Scratch is all you need - there is no need to buy the Lego software.

I can confirm that no Lego software needed if connecting WeDo to Windows/Raspberry PI running Scratch 1.4

Try Bricklink.com to shop for individual WeDo components. Sometimes used items come up at reasonable prices

Enchanting worked pretty well for me to program NXT Mindstorms with a scratch based interface.

Check out Super Tank in Phosphorus++ to run Scratch programs

You could try looking at used ones or Amazon. But you are right, they are NOT CHEAP. That's why i got a PicoBoard instead :3

putting images on this signature shouldnt be as annoying as it is.

I've been looking into this same issue for programs at my library and have come to the conclusion that buying the kits at the WeDo site is the cheapest overall option. They are even more expensive on Amazon or Ebay right now than on the WeDo site $250-275 vs. $150. If you have plenty of basic Legos and just need the power pieces you can buy them separately, but they are quite pricey as well - $25-50 each depending on the type. By the time you calculate 2 sensors, a motor, and a USB, you've paid about $150-200 anyway.

If you plan to purchase Lego WeDo and use scratch with it keep in mind that you may encounter problems connecting from scratch to lego.
For me the Scratch Device Manager doesn't work and there is no help from developers in forums.

When I use my lego wedo kit, there are no errors in connecting.
