What is a meme?
Bump due to page 2Woah, now I never said I didn't like MeMes (well, I don't enjoy them/like them, but I don't say it's really bad)Let's see…I don't see any Hot Milk Memes anymore….I don't see any Medicine Memes anymore…oh look. DEAD MEMES. (mic drop) Unfortunately, you are wrong. They were originally called MeMes and were pronounced “mee mees”, however, due to language and caps lock, it became “meme” even though this is incorrect. It does not match the definition of meme (despite what you may have heard like “memes are things that are recreated” which some people define it as even though that definition has changed, memes are fresh trends that are funny until they become dead, but MeMes are not meant to be humorous, and they don't “die out” like memes do.)
Why are you trying to discriminate against animated memes? Can you list EVERYTHING wrong with them? They're actually really hard to animate and code (the process usually involves a lot of broadcasts, splitting up the music into little clips, Wait () secs Blocks, etc), and they're actually a good way to vent and show off your creativity, art style, and coding skills. They match a lot of things that Internet Memes do: They spread Rapidly around the internet, People put their own twists on them, people forget about them and don't make them anymore after a while, they're a type of trend, etc.
It's just that people confuse them with memes, which is why I would like to help Scratchers know the difference. I'm just trying to be helpful. I don't understand how they spread rapidly though, I've never seen that.
It's what they are called (and were originally called). It's an alternative for “animated memes”. I'm just repeating what I've read, so I don't know if the thing about title capitalisation is true. “MeMe” lol

The word “Meme” in the title isn't always capitalized, just usually. That's like saying…All laptops have stickers on them, or everybody has brown hair. They're not lazy. They're actually really, really, REALLY hard to make. Tbh I don't have anything against them, but some are just lazy, which is why I think they're given such a bad rep.

I meant MeMe gets confused with meme because people used to capitalise MeMe making it MEME, and meme capitalised is also MEME, so the confusion started between a MeMe and a meme, even though they have nothing really do do with each other (meme comes from the Greek word “minema”, which means something that is replicated, although the definition of meme has changed from that, and MeMe comes from, but I'm not sure, the word “me”, as it is something to express yourself) Terms like “animation memes” came from the project title capitalisation confusion too.The word “Meme” in the title isn't always capitalized, just usually. “All laptops have stickers” as a comparison? What sort of laptop has stickers other than the “powered by windows” and specs and stuff?

stickers as in little sticky pieces of art that you can attach to things such as paper or the back of your laptopI meant MeMe gets confused with meme because people used to capitalise MeMe making it MEME, and meme capitalised is also MEME, so the confusion started between a MeMe and a meme, even though they have nothing really do do with each other (meme comes from the Greek word “minema”, which means something that is replicated, although the definition of meme has changed from that, and MeMe comes from, but I'm not sure, the word “me”, as it is something to express yourself) Terms like “animation memes” came from the project title capitalisation confusion too.The word “Meme” in the title isn't always capitalized, just usually. They're pronounced “meem” and are usually capitalized to grab attention. Most of your information is wrong. They're called memes because they spread rapidly around the internet for people to put their own twists on and personalize them as they like and share it with the internet and they become “dead” after a while due to them being old and uninteresting because people have already seen them. Once they are dead people usually stop creating their own twists on them because doing so would make them looked down upon as they are considered “not caught up with the trends”.
I don't see how you think they aren't memes. You can use that definition when somebody asks what funny videos of a Kid Yodeling in Walmart or a Strange creature speaking gibberish with backup dancers that are books are classified as. Or you could use it when someone asks what an OC dancing in patterns (usually with head bobbing) to the beat of a song is called.
Animated “MeMes” (I have literally never seen them called that after a long time of browsing Scratch and Youtube) are Memes. Accept it or just be incorrect.

2. Explain how they fit the definition of meme. Explain how they can be in the same category as big 3D animated characters from poorly animated children's movies.
EDIT: Okay, I got a little angry there. I'm not usually like that. But I have a feeling you're going on every single post I make and complain/point something out. It's not very nice.

Also, the second thing you listed makes no sense.
If you read the definition of “meme” and not be biased, you'll see why.

What is a meme?
Here's the general term for “meme” that represents both types.
A meme is a piece of media that rapidly spreads, with variations usually coming out of it. An example of a “meme” is “Kilroy Was Here”.
