and for the reverse one, you could just reverse it in Sounds>Effects>Reverse.

Speed up, slow down and reverse music

Support! This will allow for entertaining pitch shifts. The speed should be separate for each sprite, just like the volume, so that it's possible to change speed of music without changing the speed of sound effects. I feel like the music collection in my Music player isn't complete. Pitch shifts can be very entertaining and energetic.

The first workaround changes the speed of notes, but not the imported sounds. And what if you want to be able to play both the normal and the reversed version, without increasing the file size? Scratch has a 50MB file size limit.

Speed up, slow down and reverse music

Support! It's useful to add effects while playing the sound, for example in a DJ console.

Speed up, slow down and reverse music

They already added this in Scratch 3. It's not a block, but it is in the sound editor

Support for blocks that allow you to do this during the run of a project, it would make it a lot easier to have cool effects in the background music for a project. I think this would be particularly useful with games- while you can time things in an animation in order to edit the music at the right point, this is impossible with games as (if you want an effect when a life is lost or something) you cannot predict when it will occur.

We already have the reverse feature in the Sound Editor, and Speed Up and Slow Down are coming in the Sound Editor in 3.0.

Why do you think this should be added to scratch?

OP, no support- as others have said, this is already in scratch 3.0.

I hope you meant 3.0, not 0.3.

Supproot for sound reverse. It could be a cool mechanic in platformers when you go thru a portal that makes everything go in reverse, then so would the music.

The third one can already be done in the sound editor. Support for the other two.
Not in the middle of a script.
If you want a sound reversed halfway through, then just find the part you want reversed in the sound editor, highlight it, and reverse it. It will only affect that part.
What if it depends on the actions the player takes? What if you want the sound to play reversed as soon as the player presses a certain button?
I see…I don't entirely think this would be used that much, though, so semi-support for now.
It could be used to make music players, or cool, time based sound effects in games.
If it depends on the action the player takes, then make multiple soundtracks with different times where they reverse, slow down or speed up.

I would love the ability to make sounds speed up, slow down or reverse.
setsoundspeedto50%playsoundyay

Sounds could be sped up or slowed down in the middle of them, too.

playsoundmusicrepeat5changesoundspeedby-10%

Negative sound speed would represent reverse.

playsoundmusicsetsoundspeedto-200% 2x speed in reverse

I am aware that slowing down a song will make it lower, and speeding it up will make it higher. Should Scratch make sure it stays the same…?
Support!
