Costume/Frame Sequencing/Grouping

I suggest that in Scratch 3.0 there is a feature where you are able to group your costumes/animation frames into a sequence, then you can export them as a .gif for easy sharing with a right click on it.

Possible uses are:

Importing .gifs into scratch and grouping different scenes together to sort them better. (If you were making a movie.)

Sharing animated profile pictures with others MUCH easier, this is a pet-peeve of mine because I cannot get my animated profile pictures to work without 3rd party software or websites, this would greatly reduce the difficulty with sharing animated profile pictures, and also reduce the risk of getting banned for linking to third-party sites.

There's probably more possible uses I'm not thinking of but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Please note that my reasoning for this is to give people with restrictions on what they are able to download (such as image editors like gimp).

Please do not bring up the fact that scratch is not meant to be an image editor, there are problems with that as one person below has stated.

No support because Scratch's purpose is not to be an image editor like GIMP or other programs. If we add in too many features pertaining to images that don't to in well with Scratch the programming language then it begins to lose it's sense of focus.

Animation, not image editing. Animation is one of the most popular things on scratch. MAPs, AMVS, PMVs, Original animated shorts?

Never proposed a built in image editing software, proposed better tools for animation.

Yes, but Scratch is just a language that allows for it, not a website totally dedicated to it. Plus, .gifs have a frame and color limit, and all the .gif exporting would put more load on the server. Just download all the frames and combine them in GIMP.

The “Scratch is not an X tool” argument is a spectacular failure. Since Scratch isn't an audio sharing website we should remove every piece of the audio editor that isn't importing audio. Since Scratch is supposed to be a programming website, we should remove everything but the editor. See how this argument doesn't work?

Anyways, I like the idea, but at the same time, I feel as though there are more open and free art editors; I instead propose that Scratch's importing be better, as it either comes out JPEGed to heck, a completely pink square, or still having lines you swear you erased.

My problem is that users who, say have restrictions on downloading software on the internet, cannot download software like that. This is the whole point of the suggestion, to make people who cannot download software such as gimp's lives easier.

Full support on that too.

I support this <33 I'd love to have an easier way to export .GIF files, I love what you are proposing ^u^

I also support @CosmicBunBun's idea, a better importing system <33 It would be easier for when I'm animating on outside programs
