About Me and What I'm Working On need more characters.

Seriously, permanent sections that define you are limited to 250 200, but single messages on someone's projects allow 500 characters?

Either the userpage sections need more characters, or comments less. What has anyone even said in a comment that takes a good 400 characters that wasn't spam?

EDIT 2: I guess the second paragraph above isn't accurate. Now that I can confirm account requests on the Scratch Wiki and I've been giving long lectures on the AE disagreement, I've had to split a lot of comments into two parts.

-1. I've done that before. Usually, though, I just split the message into different comments.

I know I once helped a Scratcher with his project notes by copying all the notes into a comment and editing some of the grammar. To make it easy, all the project owner had to do was copy the comment into his notes. Of course there were a lot of notes, so I split the message, because it wouldn't fit in one comment.

This was all I could fit on my About Me section on my profile.

I like Pokémon. And Warriors.
If you are noting that I follow people that did nothing on Scratch, don't worry-those are people I know personally. Hopefully I can convince those people to do something.

Ugh. This has annoyed me so much. Currently, the character length for About Me is 150 or 200. I want to give more facts about myself, but I have to put “I'm a 13 year old who has used Scratch for about 3 years. I am learning Javascript and C# for Unity.” I have to shorten my sentences to add more facts in. I would also like to put in what types of things I'm trying to learn in Unity, but I can only fit a few things. These are some other things I would like to add to “About Me:”

-Types of graphic design I do
-My Scratch history
-etc.

Please consider this, Scratch Team. I would really enjoy this!

Support, but two things we need to think about.
1. We can't have a lot of characters because this would give people a bigger chance of writing personal information.
2. We can't have people writing novels.

I only support an increase to 1000. Any more and people will be flooding their profiles with text that may or may not inhibit the servers.

And one more thing to think about: If a person included a bad word in their 9000-word profile info, it would make moderation immensely difficult, which is why they kept it at a low standard.

As a long time Scratcher, I have found new meaning to the name “Scratch”: for me, it means to “scratch that itch”, to come back again and again to realize new ideas in this toy language, even when I'm capable of creating my projects in real programming languages years later. It's a friend that helped me to pursue programming and get me to enjoy its fruit. I'm certain many others who have walked this path as well have grown fond of its importance in their life.
