• The hotel will have stale breakfast and a tiny pool, if the family is lucky enough to even get a hotel with those things in the first place.
  
• After the family checks out of the hotel, they will realize that they forgot something in their room. It doesn't have to be something valuable, but it is usually one of the character's favorite possessions.
  
• When the characters get hungry, they will go out to eat. If they find a diner, the food will either be gross or something else will force them to leave, such as a disgusting guy sitting next to them. They will end up eating mints/wafers/gum/granola bars from a vending machine.
  
• If it's a beach trip, the characters will be going to the ocean at this point. They will either:
  A: Get attacked by the sea life. Seagulls and crabs are common. Octopi and jellyfish in a gross-out work.
  B: Build a sand castle that will wash away, or they will leave before it is “finished.”
  C: Swim in the ocean and come down with a nice case of hypothermia.
  D: Be unable to find a place to lay out their beach towel and leave.
  
• Another bathroom break! The characters will, in the best-case situation, end up using a repulsive convenience store toilet.

They'll have had enough of wherever they went and board a plane home. There'll be some nonsensical moral where they reflect on this vacation and go “Oh, it wasn't so bad. After all, we had fun and spent time together as a family!” Roll credits.

yep, I've seen that so many times. Sometimes it works such as magical girl shows sometimes it doesn't in stories where magic really isn't a thing
