…I don't know. Maybe if I knew more about Volt as a character (personality, etc.).

Well, the main universe Volt is less pliable then the other two versions of her. By that I mean she's not as loyal to her creators and friends as her counterparts. For example: As demonstrated earlier in the RP, the legends version of Volt was hesitant of leaving Roll behind and was worried about her safety and was willing to obey all of her orders without question. The Battle Network version of Volt is pretty much exactly like the Legends version of Volt personality wise, as she also obeys orders without question. The version of Volt from the main series however would react differently in a similar situation. Like if Mega Man was badly injured, her reasoning would be, “He's strong enough to hold out on his own.” Also for example, if Dr. Light told Volt to attack Willy's fortress a certain way and she disagreed with that way, she would express her opinion on the matter. And if Dr. Light still kept the plan the same, she'd still do it her own way. So the main difference in her personality is basically this: “She likes to do things her own way, and isn't that thrilled to submit to other people's ideas.” This is why I think a monkey would be a good partner for her, because it also is care free and does everything its own way.

So. We have a character who takes things very seriously, ignoring orders if they seem like a bad idea, and is also somewhat stubborn.
What you need is a…

Hmm. I mean, yes, but no. Kinda weird to have a mule.
“CAT - denotes an independent nature, or can denote negative personality or situations. It can mean uncooperativeness and isolation as well.”
I… I dunno… Well, that's all I could find. I'm not sure exactly on any of this… I thought earlier a small panther might be cool…

Now I'm torn between a monkey AND a panther. This'll take a wile to decide….
While I'm deciding, I guess it'd be good to tell you the main universe Volt's history: It all started many years ago, Dr. Thomas Light was a graduate of college with his doctorate. But his father Dr. Phantasmo (because I like weird names) was still raising his young daughter, Whitney. Because he doesn't have much time for his daughter, the scientist created a robot by the name of Volt that would act as a friend and play mate to Whitney. Some years later, Whitney had sadly disappeared in the middle of the night without a trace and was believed by many to be dead. Dr. Phantasmo then lost his grip on reality, and planned on taking over the world. He reprogrammed and redesigned Volt to be “the ultimate fighting robot” and planned on making her the general of his robot master army. Volt rebelled and destroyed all of the doctor's robot masters. Before she could put an end to her creator, though. She was locked up inside a stasis pod by Dr. Phantasmo who disappeared soon after that. Many years later, Mega Man found Volt and freed her from her stasis.

Well, most classic games are rigged to be the hardest in the world. Take the first sonic the hedgehog game for instance, if you die three times you have to start over… ..FROM THE VERY BEGINNING! Mega Man, that game drove me up a wall. Any ways…
That's actually not where the story ended, though. As it turned out, Phantasmo also locked himself up in stasis. After releasing Volt, Mega Man, recognizing the person as his creator's father was going to release him. Volt tries to stop him, but Mega Man manages to release him anyway. And now with Dr. Phantasmo and his newly rebuilt robot master armada on the loose, Volt and Mega Man have to work together to stop them. And that's how the story of Mega Man and Volt starts.

Interesting. I'm still trying to beat Craig's Challenge… There a really cool cheat a found out in the ProtoMan-or-something battle: if you die right over the portal you will actually teleport into the next section, and possibly beat it on zero health!

Speaking of Proto Man, he doesn't really have a game to call his own, which is why I might make a game for him. But before I introduce the game, I need to explain the story of Mega Man and Volt 2 to explain why a certain character is on Proto Man's team and not Mega Man's. The story starts out like this: Dr. Light creates a robot based off of Volt and Mega Man and names it Jazz. Jazz, basically being like King in his thinking, takes control over Light's robot masters and plans on taking over the world. After going through the intro stage Volt and Mega Man return to Dr. Light's lab to find it had been ransacked by Willy's robot masters, and also to find Roll severely damaged and deactivated. Volt forces Mega Man to leave Roll behind and they go out to fight against Jazz's robot masters. Shortly after our heroes leave, Jazz appears, takes Roll, and teleports away. Eventually, Volt and Mega Man make it to Jazz's fortress where they find a repaired Roll that is now also under Jazz's control and has been refitted for combat. After beating her in the boss battle, a post battle cut scene plays showing Roll quickly recovering and beating Mega Man and Volt. She's about ready to deal the final blow to them when she manages to brake free of Jazz's mind control and she takes Volt and Mega Man a safe distance away from the fortress and returns to it where she sets her nuclear reactor to “Meltdown” (because, like Willy and Proto Man, Jazz replaced her solar reactor with a nuclear one) and blew up the base. The game ends with Volt and Mega Man believing that Roll perished in the explosion. In a post credits scene, Roll is seen standing beside Proto Man on top of a building as they both look down at Dr. Light's lab. Roll then states that she plans on leaving her past behind her as the game ends.

Now that that story has been revealed, on to “Proto Man Battle”

Proto Man Battle is an RPG game with a turn table based battling system. In story mode, you play as Team Proto Man which consists of Proto Man, Roll, and an empty slot because I still haven't found a third person. The story is basically this: Willy hosts a battle competition to see who will be able to rise to the top and beat him in a battle for the fate of the world. Proto Man and his team will face off against many different teams in the tournament, but the important ones are Team Mega Man (which consists of Mega Man, Volt, and an empty slot) and Team Bass (which consists of Bass, Air Man, and Crash Man) After Proto Man's team defeats all of the other teams and goes up against Willy, they beat Willy and the world is saved for the third time that week.

So, have any suggestions on who I could add to Proto Man's and Mega Man's teams? (you could even use fan characters if you want)

Having made several gaming/Mega Man grammar corrections…
I suppose Rush would not count as a team member, so nothing I can really think of. Unless you want the Classic Bonnes I'll be making.
Probably a couple of cool, new original characters.
Turn-based? As in, Battle Network turn-based, Earthbound turn-based, or maybe… Classic Battle Network turn-based?
Yes, I just suggested having a 2D Mega Man game with the BattleChip system. It actually sounds pretty cool, and most fitting for a game using the Classic characters! It also could give some interesting Time Attack opportunities, as going faster through levels is more of a challenge (you could stand around until your CustGauge refills, or you could just keep moving forward until it does)!
And yes, I also gave you one of my original ideas.

Y'know, I think Rush would be a good idea for a third member for Mega Man's team. Now all I have to do is find a third member for Proto Man's team.
The battle system is really the standard one found in most RPGs. It includes MP, HP, and maybe SP. It doesn't include battle chips and that stuff. (I honestly think that's to complicated)

THE MegaMan/RockMan Thread!

I've been listening to the Battle Network 6 soundtrack recently, an gosh, I love that game! (I'll link the KHInsider pages, as rgl0000 seems to use those when referencing video game music, too.)
It seems every theme is just perfect for what it tries to do. Even the “An Incident!” theme, which is my least favorite in the game, can still be redeemed when discussed, as it most certainly gives an area a chaotic atmosphere.
Central Town– A cool place to hang out. Also, a futuristic world filled with possibilities– whether good or bad.
JudgeTree CyberWorld– …Can even justice be twisted?
Pre-Boss music– It's almost time! Get ready, 'cuz here we GOOOO!
Boss music– Perfect for getting the player in an intense mood, probably necessary if you don't have ridiculously effective Chips…
What I'm pretty sure is the first Expo theme– NEW AWESOME, HI-TECH EVENT COMING UP! BETTER THAN NETOKYO! HYPE!
“Evil Spirit” theme– Evil spirits have somehow invaded the Net… Prepare your SoulWeapons! (A theme that works well for portraying a great evil.)
Theme often used near the game's end– I have no idea what that Japanese text means, but I like to translate it as “HERE-WE-GO!”
I'm pretty sure this is after a big spoiler– This is not the Expo you thought it was!
Falzar (and probably Gregar for those who prefer a Servbot over Data) boss– FINAL BOSS TIME! LET'S DO THIS!
There's a bunch of other examples, but I don't have the time right now.

Speaking of Mega Man Battle Network, I listened to Fireman's stage in Network Transmission and now I think that's my favorite song in the game.
Hey!
That's based on the NES version!
How dare they!
Those Transmission people…
(Just kidding! It's not bad.)
Here's a really cool one I didn't have the time to post.
So the Battle Network 6 theme is inserted in several places through the game. Some remixes are sad, some intense, etc. etc.
And here's a really cool one. I assume it's somewhere around the game's end; before, during, or after the credits.
Here it is.
It might seem to some like just another recreation of the theme. But does something else seem familiar? Listen to the Battle Network 1 theme if not.
I just love music combinations. The best part is here, it just seems perfect. It's like, “Remember how it all began?”, or, “Look at all the memories made since then.” It's just great.
(Or maybe it tells some people, “Wait… this was all one year?”)
And if you can't tell, I love the Battle Network series, and have a real attachment to 6. I try to take a balanced view of all Mega Man games, but that game just seemed perfect to me.
Apart from that Lan was still in 5th grade… I still don't get that…

“Guard *”!
Did you just say what I think you said?
(As I said, I love the Battle Network series, and that just set off a “TimeBomb M”, right there.)
(I also know how to make BattleChip references in conversations!)
(I'll try to take it easy here though. Don't wanna turn into a Cybeast or something.)
The Battle Network system is not too complicated, if you introduce things slowly.
After all, I can get into it…
It's got the basic RPG elements (Turns, attacks, enemy/player HP) along with an active battle system (which I really like and think is more like Mega Man) and attack combos. There are also Elements and more complicated things the player need not be aware of at first.
It could be the basic RPG system but with an active, 2D battle system instead.

Why do people keep posting “Pharaoh Man” on the Mega Man threads? I mean, I know he's a Mega Man character, but…
Is it Mega Man lingo for “close this thread”?

Hey, I found a song from a Mega Man game. The game was titled: “Mega Man X Corrupted”, but when I searched for the game on MMKB I couldn't find it. So could you identify which Mega Man X game this music is from?

Pretty sure it's exactly what it says it is: Mega Man X: Corrupted.

Well, I think I finally have an idea for a third party member for Proto Man's team in Proto Man Battle. I was thinking of having Proto Man and Roll somehow find and reprogram Quint back to his original self. And then in return, Quint would help them defeat Wily. And at the end of the game he returns to his time to stop the future Wily. What do you think of this idea?

*looks up Quint* Ah, I see.
Well, I'm not a huge Classic expert, but the idea sounds possible.
