untitled short story collab thing

Icy's doing a female human character
Izzy's doing a male human character
Nia's doing a female human character

Half-breeds

Awesome's doing a pheonix halfbreed
Nova's doing an intelligent dragon (I have no idea how that's going to go lol)
Dqg's doing a male 1/4 dragon, 1/4 something else? Idk
Fantale's doing a half something character.

also guys, what's our magic system going to be? based off harry potter, where you need a wand and need to say words to make spells, based off of throne of glass where there's a specific well of magic each person gets from birth, and no matter how much you practice the well is the same.

what i was thinking is that magic could actually have a gene (we wouldn't mention it in the story tho), and that raw talent of magic would be a recessive gene, and different types of magic genes could be rarer than others.

also, i was thinking of making my character a seer (or prophet) (someone who can see in the future), would that be too op of a power? ofc there's going to be limitations, and i'd really want to write a story with him.

yes, hoomins have mostly elemental powers (although im planning to make my character a seer)

What if magic had to be caught and then bought? Like only the rich would buy it, so it would be horribly misused. And ppl who had it would have to hide from the ppl who wanted to steal it from them.

Hey same! That's really cool actually! And the poor are presumed to only have magic because their ancestors stole it or they stole it- that sounds really cool! But we need to think more about how people use magic, could practice make it better? And what is magic's limitations?

Maybe they all could be? I've read books where several characters are all main protagonists (and written a few as well…)

What if the casters mood played a part in the power of a spell. Say you’re having a friendly duel with your friend- your magic isn’t ”weak” it’s normal I guess? But if you’re facing an evil dictator you want to kill, you could feel angry at the dictator and the power of the spell could be stronger.

Maybe have laws put down? So if you kill someone and it’s not in self-defense, spend _ years in prison or get a death sentence?

Practice should make it better, you’d be able to dodge spells better and cast them in the right direction or something… idk

i think we should wait for everyone to reply so we can all be happy with what elemental power we've chosen since its probably better if we had different powers

also i asked this a bit before but is this definitely going to be a short story cos i feel like with a short story it limits us on how much we can write about but if we just made it a regular story than we can kinda go on until we feel like ending it
