Voltron: Legendary Defender
Season five release date confirmed for March 2nd!
I do wonder if we're going to go back to a regular 13-episode season or if the plotline will be split across two parts like S3+S4. I'm guessing the former.

Season five release date confirmed for March 2nd!I think the Animation Studio said that it would be another half-season. I'm not completely sure about this, but we still have to wait until March for our Lance episode.

WHAT THE QUIZNAK? Why is this place not active?
I was recommended to watch it, and I loved it.Oh. I thought I was the only person whose favorite Paladin was Lance.

He's definitely the fan-favourite, I'd say. He was actually one of my least-favourite throughout the first season ‘cause I just saw him as a cocky womanizer archetype with little else to him, but I feel like he’s had a lot of character development over the following seasons and now I think I don't have any favourite Paladin because they all have their honourable positions within the team.I was recommended to watch it, and I loved it.Oh. (That said, if you twisted my arm on my favourite, it'd probably have to be Hunk. Like Lance, I also just viewed him as an archetype in that he's a bulky guy who loves food, acts awkwardly and happens to be the butt of jokes, but they really play up his strengths as a character rather than keeping it one note. My absolute undying favourite used to be Pidge, but IDK, I'm not feeling that quite as much anymore, even with all of the fantastic backstory episodes.)

'Kay, it's the 11th and I've watched all six episodes. What does everyone think? Spoilers are recommended to be put in transparent formatting, like this (quote to see the BBCode, highlight to read the text): example.
Like with the other seasons so far, I haven't noticed any gain or loss in the overall quality of the show. Most of the same flaws and great parts still carry over. Here are some dot points:
- Sam Holt (a.k.a. Pidge and Matt's dad) looks like Ryuichi Sakamoto.
- I'm glad that Rolo has an expanded role in the first couple of episodes. He was one of my favourite side-characters from season one, so it's very cool to see him working with the Galactic Federation. Little weird since he betrayed the Paladins at first though.
- I fully expected Lotor's decision to join the other side to be an elaborate ruse he would use to gain an advantage on the whole war, but he's surprisingly pretty committed to going against the Galra's plans. From that ending of episode six, I'm guessing his violent nature might lead to something like this happening in the next season, but he could remain a protagonist. That's a strange prospect and it's gonna take a while for me to get my head around it..
- I'll also have to get used to Keith being a minor character in the storyline now. Personally, he's the character that tends to be at the back of my mind the most, but his absence from Red Lion pilot duty is noticeable. Can't complain much because I'm glad Allura's taken the job yet it is kinda like “where did he go???” I do predict that S6 will give him a larger role and might even bump him back into the main action though.
- One big thing I did notice about the animation over the past few seasons is when it breaks away from the usual anime style to go for tweening, it's usually not all that big a deal (and it can be used for hilarious effect too, like when Allura and Coran kept slithering all over the place when they learned how to milk a cow). However, there was a walk cycle used on a close-up during the scene where they trade off Lotor for Pidge's dad and it looks…really awkward. I wouldn't be complaining about it if it wasn't on screen for so long, but it seems like they wanted emphasis on that close-up. Very jarring.

Bump.
So yesterday I heard mention of a real person named Kate Holt. When a show you havent watched in a while invades your life again.
