Treetop and Symphony are my main OCs.

Symphony is a Bouncing Note named after my favourite song. His tail droops a little at the end.

Treetop is a Deku Scrub with A TON of redraws.

Is it bad that for one series I've created I know I have at least 115 OCs(there's more), and I want to develop all of them into complex characters? I have this huge bio sheet I want to fill out for all of them, but I'm stumped on where to start. I want to try to write a short story to develop some of them however I can't think of any good prompts.

There isn't anywhere you can find this character because I haven't set up a line of comics for it yet, but here goes.

I actually made a few OCs years ago, but then I lost the sketchbook and I haven't really drawn them since. I'm thinking of making new ones though, since the old ones was never well thought-out in the first place.

Norman Nerdsworthy.
He was this nerd character I made based off a nerd character in a Horrible Histories-esque book series when I was pretty young and has kind of been a bit of a staple character since then. He's this ginger haired boy with a acorn-like haircut, glasses and a green and blue vest atop a white button-up shirt. He used to be one of my main OCs and was typically the focus character or audience insert in most of my stories. Nowadays, he's mostly a background character and a character I use to show my artistic development.

I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to post twice, but I'm going to do it anyway because this will provide you with entertainment while cause me to die a bit inside.

My first OC ever was… “Cario”

As the name suggests, it is a Mario ripoff. You see, at the time, I was obsessed with Mario, and I thought it would be fun to draw myself tagging along with Mario on adventures (Waits for the cringe to die down). As such, the originally named Cario was born.

He pretty much looks exactly the same as Mario, except has a yellow cap and clothes, and I think he had orange overalls at some point, but I'm not sure. I originally wanted it to be red (because that's my favorite color), but I figured that would look exactly the same as Mario.

The only thing I remember drawing of Cario was this little booklet with “The Adventures of Mario and Cario” on the front. I remember drawing Mario ready for action, while Cario was in a robe, baggy eyes, and coffee. I had only drawn one unfinished thing of Mario and Cario bouncing along Sweet Sweet Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy. I gave it a rest for like, six years until I found SMG4.

I really thought the guy was funny, and I thought, “Hey, maybe I can do the same thing?” And a gigantic line of Mario and Luigi reskins was born. These were so stupid it's shocking how I actually kept up with this, but some include ZL, Oirac (The opposite of Cario), some Donkey Kong skin I forget the name of, and a whole bunch of others. If you want to see a picture of something I drew, I might make a project about this in the future…

Anyways, it went further. Yes, I know, this is dumb, but I actually printed, cut out, and reskinned some Paper Mario clones to go along with the color scheme of these guys and made it into an SMG4-ripoff: Super Plush Bloopers. It was so dumb, one of the episodes was about Toad going insane after playing Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

I can't believe I remembered all of that…

So, sorry to keep you around for this long, but I had so much to say about Cario, apparently. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to talk about this, I had a blast writing this and having a nostalgia wave crash over me.

I believe my first OCs were Katherine (a tomboyish cat), Lucas (an immature wolf or dog, it's been years so I don't really remember), and them some bat which I don't remember the name of (he was kind of a facetious guy)

In middle school, I had a timid lynx named Ajax. You can say I'm kinda dark, cause it's kinda true, but uhh…

Yeah, he was in a universe that was like a cross between Wander Over Yonder & Gravity Falls (as in it was similar having monsters and whatnot).

As of now, I have at least 30, and I've thought about bringing my elementary and middle school characters back. My main OCs are Sean (a nonchalant red wolf) and Bucky (an overprotective and overly concerned whitetail deer, prefers to be called by his middle name, Andrew), and Mary, (a french tuxedo cat who is very much a tomboy, has a crush on Sean, and prefers to be called Molly). Sean and Andrew are siblings, Andrew being adopted (originally belonging to the Stagg family), along with Lillian, Guy, and Suzanne, Sean's biological siblings. Andrew's the oldest (17, almost 18), Sean's second oldest (15, almost 16), Lilly's in the middle (13), Suzy's behind Lilly (8), and Guy's the youngest (4).

THAT SOUNDS LIKE ME WHEN I WAS LITTLE

My first OC was for Pokémon, , and she started out rlly bad, but then I learned the real way to make OCs, so now she's less mary-sue-ish than she was before.(you'll know who she is with a quick browse through my projects.)

Redesigning characters is fun and keeps the character from getting “stale” in my opinion. I mainly do it when my fashion sense changes. So, in short, their outfits/ hair, etc. get redesigned more than anything else. As for the way they look, only when my art style changes.

While I don't often talk about the OCs I care about online (i'm scared of someone stealing them and since I have no copyright I can't claim anything) however since we're still talking about old OCs I think I'll share the wonderful evolution that all started with my self insert…
In my first ‘story’ of sorts I had this mismatched cast of characters, one of which was basically me but cooler and a werewolf. Now, as you can guess, I ended up getting really attached to this character and started giving her way more powers than she needed.
this started with her spy alter-ego called Darkwolf who wore full body black clothing and these cool green goggles- Darkwolf's abilities started off as just a werewolf form and some cool metal claws (kind of like a pirate hook) but when I realised I kind of preferred Darkwolf, things got a bit out of hand. Firstly, Darkwolf became the character, rather than an alter ego. Secondly, Darkwolf gained the ability to shapeshift into a cloud form and a distorted horror-creature form and lost their general werewolf status.She became my main anti hero and even a main character through a few ideas.
Then, I don't quite remember why, Darkwolf's different forms became different characters. This likely started with Darkwolf becoming.. well.. a dark wolf- this odd wolf-like creature with a tail end like the club (playing card shape) and a flat face with the green goggle shape for eyes. Then, likely because I just loved drawing it, The horror-creature form began to become it's own character; this new character was called Smoken, and he began as some creature created in a horrible experiment.
Over time, as I gained writing skill, these characters began to get better. Smoken became a less cliche shapeshifting experiment, and soon just became a regular guy with odd proportions and a tendency to shapeshift if my current story idea allowed it. The wolf like creature somehow ended up evolving back into a normal guy who can also shapeshift, usually with the wolf thing often being a alter due to this character often being characterised as having DID in most of my stories.
As for the original dark suited and cool goggled Darkwolf, they've been making a comeback as a jokey parody character based on the Mary Sue traits embodied. This new character, Impostor, is an under-skilled wannabe hero whose lack of experience leads to their problems: having an easily recognisable costume and wearing all black (which is actually bad for camouflage) are the least of their worries, their getting exploited by a team who know they can manipulate her into being their grunt.

I sort of have a self-insert in my "original universe," however, they look nothing like me and have a completely different name. They're also British.
