I was thinking something sort of peaceful and subtle in a way? The game itself is supposed to have a more peaceful theme overall.

I don't think so. Just use a small black rectangle temporarily until I get sprites in.

For the controls it'll just be standard game controls

W or up arrow key: Up
A or left arrow key: left
S or down arrow key: down
D or right arrow key: right
