Phbug's WoF Collab story Discussion Thread

So, Around the end of December, towards the beginning of January 2018, me and a few other users, @TheWirelessBlade, @Poke-Dragon, @snowfireheart, @09penguin, and now @RainbowDerpicorn started a writing project called Lost in Pyrrhia. The main gist of the story was that us five were writing a story set in the Wings of Fire universe where each of us would write a part, and we'd go around in a circle. Blade was the head writer and he was the only one who had any idea of where the story was going. This led to a few problems, and, well, things kind of went off the rails. We had no consistency whatsoever, everyone was pretty much doing their own thing. I go into more detail about what I think happened in this project here. However, We're gonna try to do it again, this time with more group discussion, and planning involved before we write the story. If you need a refresher on what happened in the original LiP, you can read the “complete” story here. If you would like to sign on to the new LiP, or whatever we're calling it, post below! To get to the story, click here.

This is Invitation only because too many people started showing up for the main story.
ALERT TO EVERYONE FOLLOWING THIS THREAD:

Due to the large number of writers who have volunteered to come on to this project, we've decided to split it in half. Blade is taking one half, and I am taking the other. If you have been invited to my studio, continue discussing here. IF you have been invited to BLADE'S studio, find his discussion forum. (Link forthcoming) Thanks!

Well, I should probably get back to work. If I stop rowing for too long, the slave ship starts going around in circles.

Okay, I vote for a new idea with new characters and maybe even a new tribe, but let's not jump 3,800 somethin' years into the future, shall we?

Sounds good. Tribe wise, I'm trying to come up w/ something new, that doesn't sound stupid like SpaceWings or FlameWings or anything like that. In fact, what if we didn't end with Wing at all? 0_0

Ooh! Now I'm interested. I didn't I'd bring this idea up, but I got a great idea!

Charwings (We'll deal with the name later)

The idea of Charwings comes derives from charcoal. The way charcoal is made and it's many uses are fascinating.

If we're talking story ideas, I'm thinking we could do something like what I did with Inkwings (That could be an idea as well).

Abilities: Due to the fact the charcoal is made when oxygen is not present, Charwings have no need for oxygen, allowing them to swim in water as long as needed.

Charcoal also has the ability to filter out toxins and poisons, which would allow a Charwing to drink any kind of water.

Dietary habits: Charwings tend to eat plant/carbon related objects like trees or coal.

(Insert ideas here)

That has some potential, however, they seem like weaklings.

How's this? Instead of everyone with a character, everyone writes from the PoV (Point of View) of one character. And instead of the story being in First person, how about it being in third?

I watched Thor: Ragnarok and saw the three people wrote the story, so I figured “Hey, let's do what the professionals do!”

I just want to restart Lost In Phyrirria, not so a completely different book! But I do support adding new tribes! I have one:

ThunderWings: Live on mountains. They shoot lightning rather then breathing fire. They are usually storm-cloud-grey with yellow wing-flaps and underbellies/necks/tails.

I don't know, I don't really think a restart is a great idea. I feel like there wasn't a great plot for LiP anyways.

Okay, I can see that. But I'm probably going to be repeating some parts of LiP

Oh. I don't know how well that will work. The point of this discussion thread is to plan out the entire story from beginning to end, there aren't going to be little “surprises” hidden in people's parts. Maybe it could be decided to have that happen to the main character in the story, but in my opinion, that's just rebranding a concept from the books. Just taking something that actually happened and twisting it around. It makes the story itself feel less original.

Speaking of which, we don't even have a main character!

Lol. What about we use the CharWings and ThunderWings. The story could take place in Plantera (I forgot what's it's called)! How does that sound?

I TOTALLY WANT TO HELP WRITE and I have a new dragon idea: The CloudWings! They are whiteish-blueish-purplish, and they are EXCELLENT fliers, and they can turn partially invisible. (Not like blending in with their surroundings, like actually invisible. Except only partially.
