How is it bad to you? Just curious. Not the word god ITSELF, but the term oh my g*d is to me G*d? God? God isn't a swear word… .-.
For example, curses/swears are bad to me because of what they mean.

It isn't exactly a swear at all. Saying refers to the fact that you need help because you may be in peril or in fear, but the internet adapted it to just be used in an exclamatory way when something happens.

The same argument could be made for strict Hindus, then–any project with cow meat could be deemed offensive. Like others have said, the only real way to avoid it is to just not say it. I understand how it can offend you, so you can just ask politely not for people to say it on your profile/projectsHow is it bad to you? That could be part of their religious belief (I'm not entirely sure, but I know they respect cows). However, it doesn't mean all things related to cow meat on here should be removed.

Or “Oh My Goodness”. Who ever said OMG doesn't mean “Oh My Gosh”?

I actually agree and am also offended by the use of that phrase, and similar phrases. However, not enough to leave. (And I am not a Mormon)
I think the best solution is for someone to make a Chrome Extension that blanks out phrases people find offensive.

Scratch does not endorse religion, nor does it inhibit the free exercise thereof. It is meant to appeal to everyone, religious and non-religious. By banning phrases that use the Lord's name in vain, they are endorsing Christian beliefs, therefore limiting the freedom of expression of everyone else.
You made the choice to use the Internet, you're gonna expect almost everyone on there to use phrases that you find are offensive. It's just the way people communicate, and by inhibiting their right to say words such as “OMG” you are challenging their freedom to use words that, in essence, are not detrimental to say whatsoever according to popular belief. Not to mention there are several aliases with the phrase: “Oh my goodness”, “Oh my gosh”, “Ermagerd”, etc.
To put it lightly, do unto others as you would have them do unto you: don't force people to not say, think, or feel something unless you want them to change what you say, think, or feel.

Yes, but in today's modern society it stands for it, which equates roughly to actually saying it, since it carries the same meaning. When I hear “idk” I understand it and process it as “I don't know”. Same with OMG.OMG might not be bad considering you arent actually SAYING it OMG is not a bad term. Sure, it breaks one of the commandments, but it is not actually an offensive term. Like terminator68 said, you should just learn to accept it.

I'm not a religious expert, but I think that Hindus can't eat beef because cows are considered holy. The same argument could be made for strict Hindus, then–any project with cow meat could be deemed offensive. Anyway, about the original topic, it's simply not possible to conform to every religious belief out there. This is a secular (non-religious) site, and as such it's just about impossible to make it conform to every religion. I think the current policy of banning comments specifically intended to be offensive towards a religion but allowing comments that are otherwise acceptable even if they make references to a term that has religious terms works. For a community to work, people need to learn to tolerate others, even if what they say goes against part of their religion. Phrases such as “oh my god” are by now part of the vernacular and don't have any malevolent meanings, so it's best just to let people use it.

Like the Amish. If we honored them, scratch would be sending a drawing in that they turn into a choose your own adventure on parchment. Though they aren't on here to be offended…Of course, if every religion had its ideologies completely honored, there may be no Scratch at all. If it is offensive to you, you can just choose not to use it.It breaks a commandment. There's no derogatory use of it, so how can it be offensive?
And really, censoring a word still has the same implicit meaning.
