Remove sound effect "Ringtone" from Scratch 3.0
No support unless Apple comes out and states they don't want the ringtone effect on Scratch.

-snip- and odesong-b which is also from 2.0 sounds like it's from The Sims, but I'm not sure about those.Nope! Not from The Sims.
And the ringtone is from Apple, despite being in the YouTube sound library. We'd have to research this a little more, because I did a Google search and got mixed answers.

You don't really need to bump a topic every day. If noone replies to it, it means not alot of people want it removed.

You have not shown that it's copyrighted, though. You said you think it is but you need to show some evidence that it is. If the sound is indeed from the free YouTube sound library like that one person said, then both Apple and Scratch are simply using a free sound. You don't really need to bump a topic every day. Even if it is copyrighted by Apple, the Scratch Team could have received permission from Apple to use it. If you would like people to support the removal of the sound you are going to have to show two things:
1) The sound is indeed copyrighted by Apple
2) Scratch did not receive permission from Apple to use it

I'm 99% sure that Apple have made it, it is their signature ringtone, after all. A company as professional as Apple would probably not go and use random free sound effects. Keep in mind the YouTube free sound library is a mysterious place, songs/sounds disappear from it randomly, also, the “kids cartoons” which were actually inappropriate on the YouTube kids app also used that library I think. You have not shown that it's copyrighted, though. But being 99% sure is still not convincing me that it's copyrighted. In order for it to be compelling I'd have to see something that actually shows it is.
In addition, just because it's copyrighted does not mean Scratch didn't receive permission to use it.

I'm pretty sure it is copyrighted.

Even if it is copyrighted that doesn't mean they didn't receive permission to use it. I'm sure Apple would have easily let Scratch use it given that Scratch is dedicated to helping young people learn to code, something Apple would support.

And even if they did, they would have probably made a statement about it. Plus, it was found in the YouTube sound library. That's a bit of a loose connection if what you said was true.

Apple doesn't really do stuff like that though. You are guessing, though. Apple is a huge company, they definitely have let others use their stuff before, especially an education-oriented company like Scratch that will do no harm using their ringtone. Unless you or I work for Apple, we do not know anything about who they are lending permissions to.
And even if they did, they would have probably made a statement about it.Letting Scratch use a ringtone does not seem like something that would require a public address IMHO.
I'm going to have to go back to what I originally said: if indeed the sound is copyrighted and if Scratch did not receive permission to use a copyrighted sound, then I am completely in favor of removal, I'm on your side.
However, as for whether the sound is copyrighted, you are still mostly guessing it is (and it does seem likely your guess is correct, I agree that it probably is copyrighted). But as for whether Scratch received permission to use the sound, you are just guessing that they did not. We shouldn't be guessing, though: they either did or did not receive permission. I can't support removal of the sound if we do not know whether or not Scratch received permission. And if I was to guess, I'd guess that Scratch did receive permission, because they seem like a professional company that is well-aware and careful with what they use.- dude341

Copyrighted material used in Scratch is fair use under US law, as they are for an educational and non-profit resource.
