Still Google search?

I'm just going to start by saying that the Hour of Code is probably over, but Scratch is still using Google Custom Search. From a forum post I read, it said that Hour of Code was going on from December 9th to December 15th. Currently it is April 13th and Google search is still there. So, Scratch Team, why isn't Google Custom Search gone?

And I have a script to promote removal of Google Custom Search
when I receive [Search Scratch]
if <[Scracth Search] = [Yes!]> then
play sound [YAY!]
set [Happines] to [9999!!!]
else
play sound [Nooooooooooo!
set [Happines] to [-9999]
end

I guess they've gotten so used to the Google Search that they've forgotten about it.

No I don't make projects anymore. I left some time ago.
I only check the forums every now and then, but other than that consider me retired.

Okay, but I would think that seeing so many posts about Google Custom Search would make them realize they need to change it

Also, if you consider it, the Scratch website has been booming over the past many months, not just with new Scratchers, but with more server load from practically everything. That's one reason why the Google Custom Search is still there, because the website still has a huge load, and that's constantly increasing.

Anyway, as a sort of fun fact, did you know that Scratch 1.4 only had a Google Custom Search bar?

My thoughts,

Okay, so if they brought back the Scratch search it would slow things down
But why?

I answered the question on your thread.

While the Scratch search system is a more accurate, we're still working on a lot of stability issues here on our end. So putting the new search system back isn't likely until after then.

Sadly, my forum signature was eaten by an evil kumquat.

You need to be a Scratcher to close your own topics (and then you have to wait until 24 hours after the original post). However, you can report the first post asking a moderator to close it.
