Taking care of housekeeping at the moment but when I get done with that I am going to wrap my clicker code around your current copy of The Woods and add it to the team page. Then we will see if one of the other coders wants to work on the rest of the code while you develop the graphics. I believe zuwel is composing music for Shadowlands at the moment so I would say use placeholder music or pick your own if you want to use anything for now.
But how awesome is that!?! I thought we brought on someone to work with sound who also composed their own music on the side, I had no idea zuwel was gonna write something new for Shadowlands.
I still need to start a discussion about another new simple game project to start over at our general discussion page.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome. And, alright! Look forward to it!

you want day/night cycles, right? so maybe the moon goes by once then the sun next time as the screen changes from night to day then back again?

I actually coded it myself, but you can redo the coding if you want. It's likely suboptimal.

I'm recoding it now and nah, it isn't bad. But am I right about how you want the day/night cycle to work?

Here it is mostly re-coded but without clicker code added yet. See if you like the night/day cycle.
I think it would be cool to add sounds for day and night forest ambiance.

It's good! I'd just fix the forest layering.

Maybe we could also make it so it rains every so often?

Oh yeah, there is a lot we can and will do
Ok, next I add the clicker code. It will be extremely basic, then we can figure out how to tie the upgrade buttons into your story and graphics and what changes we need to make to the basic code.

I'm going to adjust a few things, could you change them once I do the remix?
EDIT: Nvm, had a few troubles. Could you just re-layer the trees and make the night sky darker?

I adjusted the trees depth according to the brightness settings in your project, brightest = closest is what I guessed

Also, obviously, we have clicker code and big dumb buttons and text, just enough to test the most basic game play. Now you need to decide what you want the buttons to actually be labeled. We discussed making it so unlocking buttons and maybe clicking some would activate animations, does that still sound like a good idea to you?

have fun with it. We have a lot of empty real estate at the bottom to use up.

forgot to mention, the base code is basically done except I need to add a local variable to buttons to keep up with how many times they have been purchased

I darkened the sky and added cost ramping.

I like the idea of having a smore pop out of the fire every time the smores button is clicked.
More ideas.. campfire smoke, faint, twinkling stars at night, start adding GUI sounds (button clicks etc), start adding forest sounds, some simple forest animations (hopping frog, butterfly, eyes in trees at night, etc)

Since this is one of our first simple games, I wouldn't add this feature yet but while using Scratch to make a rhythm game in a game jam, I figured out how to sync actions and animations to the beat of a song. We gotta use that in something eventually, especially while we have a musician who can write stuff to specific bpm (beats per minute or songs peed)

Anyway, have you come up with ideas for more buyable producers/buttons?

I'll do the smoke and star sprites, in addition to creatures. And, for the font, I made an invisible sprite with each individual numeral. What I wanted was for you to make it so instead of the normal variable display, it showed the sprite and clones for how much Friendship you have. Here are my ideas for buyables:
Brighter Fires (Increases click money by 1, max of 3 upgrades)
Sleeping Bags (one time, increases FPS (Friendship per second, not Framerate or First Person shooter ) by 2.)
Tents (Buyable after getting Sleeping bags, increases by 2.)
Cabin (Buyable after Tents, increases by 2.)
Firefly Jars (Increases maximum upgrades for Brighter Fires to 3)
Also, could you cap weenies (Which will become Stoke Fire) at 3? I'm thinking every time you buy something the cost should go up by 25%, too.

I already added the cumulative price adjustment. I need to finish my simple games idea list and go post it in our general discussions post before I do any more work on this project, that shouldn't take too long.
