How do you export vector drawings to a .png file or similar? I have no idea what svg is or how to open it, so is it possible to export it to a different format?

Edit: My computer won't download large files correctly, so if there is a download required, then, .

Screenshot, unless you have the program Inkscape. SVG files will not be able to open in any bitmap editors such as MS Paint, Paint.net, etc.

SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphics. SVG files are written in a code rather than a grid of pixels. So when it is scaled it still looks nice unlike some bitmap images.Happy To Help).

What turkey3 mentioned is one way, but it takes a bit of effort. An easier way is to switch the costume to bitmap, then export.

But then the quality is ruined.

Hmm… sometimes when I import SVG files to GIMP or Inkscape, the text in the file is missing. For example, I put the letter “A” in the middle of a circle in the Scratch editor and in GIMP it's gone.

Well, quality issues happen a lot when transitioning a vector image to a bitmap one; there are ways to *try* and keep vector quality, but no way to make edges clean all around. The best you could do is open up in an editor like Inkscape and export the image as a PNG from there, but your image edges would appear jagged unless there was a background (and if you did have a background, cropping the image cleanly from the background would be difficult because of the anti-aliasing created from the transition to bitmap).

It's an inherent construct of bitmap images in general - because they're based on pixels, there will always be some degree of jagged-ness. Just pointing that out if you really wish to change the image from vector to bitmap.
