Recently, Nintendo revealed Nintendo Labo: Cardboard peripherals for the Nintendo Switch console that would work with software bundled with it. The cardboard peripherals include a piano, a remote-controlled bug-type object, a fishing rod, and even a robot backpack. The cardboard interacts with the Nintendo Switch console, allowing games to be played. Nintendo Labo utilizes IR Motion Cameras, motion controls, and the Joy-Con “HD Rumble” feature to create these experiences. You can watch the reveal trailer here.
The Toy-Con Variety Kit costs $69.99(US), while the Robot Kit costs $79.99(US).
Each pack comes with the cardboard you'll need, plus the software.
There is also a customization pack, which will allow you to customize your cardboard creations. This costs $9.99(US).
Nintendo Labo releases on April 20th, 2018.

Neat! I already have the money for it, but the hard part will be not spending it on anything else before then. I'm saving up for the Nintendo Labo.

Are you going to be getting the Variety Kit, the Robot Kit, or both?

I'll probably get one of the kits first and then buy the other kit if I like it. I also want the stickers.
I also already have enough money, but I want MEIKO v3 for my laptop, which costs about $145 and I also need a disk drive for my laptop(Which costs $69) to install her.

Don't worry; apparently, it won't get closed if discussion doesn't turn into a rant about how “it's cardboard and therefore it's objectively bad”. Oh no, not again.

Seems pretty cool. Comes out on my birth month so there's a chance I'll get it.

I've just been thinking about other kits Nintendo could possibly make with the Nintendo Labo. I was mainly thinking about some drums / bongos, similar to the Donkey Kong Bongos; but what do you think could be made alongside the Kits that have already been revealed?

Ehh, I dunno. Even with tutorials at hand, these things seem fairly difficult to make.

At least the tutorials make more sense than some LEGO sets, and provides visual step-by-step instructions that you can fast-forward and rewind. Ehh, I dunno. Even with tutorials at hand, these things seem fairly difficult to make.

It's a cardboard ring, and every time you shake it, the Switch plays “Can never grab too many rings!”Now how would that work… There should be a Sonic one, with a SEGA license of course.

Because, of course, that's the most creative idea SEGA could come up with with the Nintendo Labo⸮It's a cardboard ring, and every time you shake it, the Switch plays “Can never grab too many rings!”Now how would that work… There should be a Sonic one, with a SEGA license of course.

Everyone in my family is a Nintendo fan, so I'll probably get one as a late birthday present. Kind of excited to see how the robot turns out. I've always wanted to wear cardboard…
